Is Sangarita's expensive? Yeah, but the price is fine for what it is. The service is terrific and the food is spectacular. Really. If you're a foodie, you'll be impressed.
Guacomole: A A spicy / flavorful guac served with thick, homemade, crunch tortilla chips.
Albondigas espanolas: B+ Nice meatballs. About 1.5" in diameter with a nice red sauce. Perfect for my 3 year old daughter. They had great texture -- not too meaty, and not too fluffy: the chef found the perfect meat-breadcrumb ratio. A more garlicky, less sweet tomato sauce (or more garlicky meat) would've nabbed an 'A' rating rather than B+.
Croquetas de Jamon: B About 2" in diameter with a soft fried crust on the outside and soft mash on the inside. You get 4 balls. The texture is great but the taste is bland and too similar to mashed potato. It needs more flavor... I found myself wishing for more ham flavor, but the croquette was still delicious.
Cauliflower Al Catalan: A My mom didn't care for these. Neither did my wife. Normally I detest food with raisins, but I loved this. My wife and mom said they were mushy and obviously boiled. Perhaps, but I'm a lover of creamed spinach, and this cauliflower has the consistency of creamed spinach. The raisins and almonds, while surprising, totally worked. Best of all is the oil sauce left over which is flavorful, tomatoey, garlicky. Have some bread still on the table? Soak this stuff up! It's culinary liquid gold!
Paella De Carne: A+ If you are a paella fan, this will be one of the best paellas you've ever had. It hits all the high notes: medium grain Spanish rice cooked in a wide, round, shallow paella pan a garlicky and flavorful sofrito a savory liquid My favorite was the ending when I got to the leftover oily paella sauce that can be sopped up with bread: sheer liquid culinary gold!
Chimi sliders: A+ Truly an A+ item. I've never had chopped meat that comes even close to this. The chef throws a TON of cilantro into these and cooks them on a high flame so that outside gets wonderfully char grilled and the inside remains beautifully tender and juicy. We spoke about these sliders for days afterward. I wish we could get an entire hamburger of these sliders! One of the best sliders I've ever had in my entire life!
Soup caldo gallego: A Galician broth with a ton of kale? chard? collared greens? I couldn't tell which. Delicious and obviously an extremely healthy choice. I probably wouldn't be satisfied with just this for dinner, but it would make a great side dish or appetizer. Great choice for babies/toddlers.
Churasco: A- Skirt steak. Soft, delicious. Not as grilled as the chimi sliders. While it's delicious, there's a lot of much more intriguing dishes...
Read moreThree of us dined here 2 days ago around 5pm. I have a Mothers day reservation and wanted to try it before that special day. I was excited to try this place because the menu sounded great, the reviews were great, it had a high rating, happy hour is my middle name, and it was a close location even though parking SUCKS around here. The drinks are $12ea and happy hour is $3off at the small bar only. Bad knees, no way. The drink board had so many flavors to add to your margarita or mojito and the three flavors for Red/White Sangria, so I thought for sure I'd have 3 drinks and. We sampled the Original Red Sangria and weren't blown away by the waitresses recommendation. We order a ginger margarita on the rocks that had no ginger or alcohol, a frozen passion fruit margarita that came with a cool breeze but not frozen so that was sent back for more Ice to be blended into it and of course that meant less alcohol, and we had a long island iced tea that was good I was told. The $12 margaritas were served in baby glasses, like the champagne glasses from the roaring 20's. And the LIT was served in a tall water glass. We ordered the pork medallions that were freezer burnt and 2 paellas. I had the Vallencia and the chicken was white (so gross), the chorizo was in a tough casing and the part I did manage to chew was pure fat, there were literally 2 pieces of shrimp placed on top, and (a substitute) mussels that weren't fresh. I at the rice with sweet pepper skin pieces only. It wasn't flavorful as a traditional paella should be. It tasted like oil, chorizo and sweet pepper skin. The other paella was just seafood but wasn't any better. Our bill was $136 of garbage in our mouths and a good deal of money that could have been better utilized elsewhere. For your time and experience I recommend going elsewhere. The only positive thing I have to say is that the staff was courteous whenever they came by and the manager/owner was sincerely pleasant as well but that is not enough to tempt me to...

Yesterday, as we were perusing the menu, my wife ordered sangria and I was happy with water. As we are having dinner and enjoying our conversation, the elderly gentleman who seemed to be the manager of the establishment aggressively asked if i wanted a drink and when I politely told him I was happy with water, he curtly replied with a "THAT IS NO GOOD." This is the first time I've ever been shamed by an establishment for my dining decisions..
He then proceeded to nudge my chair twice as he would walk by to continue chatting with patrons in the back which I found very passive aggressive. There was no need for him to get so close since the restaurant barely had any patrons. All due to me not wanting a drink.
A note to owner of Sangarita's - please don't shame or critique what your paying customers order, or don't order. And, please tend to each customer equally and fairly.
Unfortunately, this experience will prevent my wife and I from coming back. If you are debating and a non-drinker, please go elsewhere. There is so much better that Bell...
