BayView Orthodontics | Dr. Inessa Kandov — Local services in New York

I’m usually a bit skeptical when there are a lot of positive reviews and little to no negative reviews. Even more skeptical when I saw that the reviews were all five stars. Seriously, not even one four star. So, I had my doubts since you never know these days. But my experience with Dr. Kandov at Bayview Ortho has been truly phenomenal. I can safely say that these five stars are well earned. Of course, there’s still room for improvement as with everything in life (which I will outline for full transparency!) but this is a better experience than I could’ve ever asked for.

Only “con” that I think people would care about is that she polished my canines. I personally didn’t care because I loved the way it turned out, and it’s very subtle as well. However, if it’s something you don’t want, make sure to let her know before she removes your attachments (which is when she also polishes your teeth). I believe this is something people usually have to pay for too, so it’s not necessarily a bad thing. Just something to note.

Context: I consulted with 3 other orthodontists (as well as my own dentist) before moving forward with Dr. Kandov. I suggest you do the same, if you have time. Each consultation doesn’t take long, and it’s worthwhile since it’ll give you options to choose from. Out of all the options, Bayview’s office stood out to me the most, although the pricing was slightly higher than other offices. Paying a bit extra for a better experience is something I can’t complain about, but just a heads up for those curious and who don’t have the time to go to multiple consults like I did. I also believe the pricing is different for every patient/case since everyone’s situation is different.

Invisalign experience: I had crowding and an overbite, both of which were resolved by I believe 12–18 months of treatment (projected & actual, respectively). Dr. Kandov was very patient in explaining what my situation was and how the treatment would go. Throughout the treatment, there were several check-in visits where they gave me my next set of retainers and also checked in on compliance. I didn’t have to wear rubber bands for my case so I can’t comment on that. I felt like all my other questions were answered and addressed.

Service/Clinical staff: Brianna and Genesis were both awesome. All of the staff are great, actually. But they stuck with me the most because every interaction I had with them felt genuine and kind.

Mainly, very happy with how wonderful the office is. I must say I was not the best patient in terms of answering their calls and scheduling appointments, but they were incredibly understanding and professional. In fact, I held off on removing my attachments for a while because I wasn’t sure if I was happy with my treatment and I was hesitant to continue on with my treatment because I just wanted to be done at that point. I was also dealing with other things in my life (it was a very stressful time), but ultimately it worked out. I was surprised they didn’t mention it at all, especially since I feel like it caused trouble on their end. Either way, I love my smile and how everything turned out. They are also on top of email/text communications, which is very telling of a medical office in my opinion. At times, the appointments did feel a bit rushed, but I think that’s to ensure efficiency & to keep appointments flowing. That said, never once did I question the quality of care because Dr. Kandov always had time to answer my questions and concerns. She’s also overall a really, really kind person. Like you could genuinely tell how much she cared about her patients.

Follow up: They schedule a follow-up visit six months after completing the treatment and removing your attachments. I will update with my follow-up experience.

This is the best orthodontist in the New York State Area. Hands down. A modern technological advanced office with the old world customer service and charm. And a doctor who danced with joy to celebrate our accomplishment. Key points that were game changers for me are below.

🌸Dr. Kandov took the time to meet over FaceTime with me and my son and spend time with us to talk about our needs and what would be the upcoming plan. It felt like a house visit and really impressive that she values each and every family enough to find time in her busy schedule (mom, Dr, business owner, wife,) (we spoke off hours). We ended up choosing her based on this convo and drove from Brooklyn for our appts and it was worth it.

🌸A clean office with the best staff that welcomes with with a smile and professionalism EVERY time. Even when you are stressed they will treat you with respect and find solutions and send you text reminders for appts.

🌸An office for everyone. Do you want to go to a Doctors office and find only one type of person goes there? Not me. I love that you find every faith, color, language, and people of all ages undergoing orthodontic treatment at this office. That means they welcome everyone and give excellent service to everyone and concentrate and being best at what they do.

Added bonus. My son and I would have the best food at our weekend appts (they took us on Sundays to accommodate our busy schedules) Vietnamese Pho. Korean BBQ etc. It’s all at your fingertips and easily accessible vial LIRR and ample parking around.
