Read moreStart with the Execute Chef Thomas Nasti....he is one of the nicest people you can meet in the restaurant business. He enjoys hearing about the restaurant and he is always looking to make everything even more better than it is. I doubt it, because everything they prepare is so fresh and so delicious at Kyclades. If there is 1 main thing to get as appetizer, it's the grilled calamari. If you decide to have these, they will spoil you from ever getting fried calamari. YES...THEY ARE THAT GOOD! So, after ordering the grilled calamari and the Village Bay oysters, we settled on getting the Greek salad...again, the freshness and crispiness of the different components of the salad were amazing. We ordered the Mediterranean Porgie and the grilled shrimps, which they deboned the fish. It was so simple, grilled with olive oil and fresh lemon and simple spices. Also, the main meals came with the thin slices potatoes and some greens to round out the meal. The flavor was bursting out. I ordered an ouzo to finish off my meal with some baklava which is so delicious here as well.
Everything is perfect here. Our waiter Alban was so attentive to our needs and even made jokes! The place is well lit and decorated. It invites you to eat. Executive Chef Thomas always has a smile on his face for his patrons. The ancillary staff perfectly rotate to keep your water filled or to remove used plates. It is like going to a symphony orchestra of restaurants!
Now the bad news, you either need to get here early or later so you do not have to wait long to dine, or you wait 15 to 30 mins to eat. IT is worth the wait and the expense. You will not have a better dining experience anywhere else!
I have NEVER heard my son say nice and amazing things about any restaurant. Executive Chef Thomas greeted him 2x, and the 2nd encounter he asked my son about how was the fish. My son smiled and said "amazing". That's all I...
Read moreWent in for brunch, as the wife had already been there for the lunch service during the week. We were seated near the ooen kitchen door, had a chance to peruse the ice chest, ir seafood display. Noticed they had a good variety of res snapper, branzino, langoustine and clams and other molluscs. We ens up ordering the grilled clams, grilled octopus, large Greek salad and a platter of the smelts. However, our very attentive waiter notified us that there were no mire smelts. Instead we had anchovies which were an excellent choice. Decor is nice, kind of like a beach house. Lots of baby blue, white walls and tiles. Nice firm woos tables, while the furniture is different and it makes a statement. The chairs, the back part of it is uncomfortable. Cutlery was not sharp, had dull knifes which that should not be the case specially if the place has only been open a month. Our waiter was extremely attentive and knowledgeable of the menu. I tried the peroni draft, which was served on a ice cold beer glass! Our 2 favorites were the anchovies and the grilled octopus. The octopus was tender, soft, nice charred flavor and it was freshly made to order. The anchovies were delicious, fries to a crispy perfection with a little bit of salt, lemon juice and olive oil. The clams were very tasty but they were more steamed instead of grilled. Overall great food and a nice selection of side dishes. For sure less rushed then its counterpart in Astoria and i don't have ro travel far as i am in the neighborhood. Will definitely be back to try the rest of the menu. Our waiter gave us a nice plate of greek yogurt with crushed walnuts and honey. This was a nixe way to end the meal. Parking is difficult as we had to go around a few times, valet service was busy...
