THIS RESTRAUNT SERVED ME FOOD I INFORMED THEM I WAS ALLERGIC TO.
I ordered the Veggie wrap and ask for no olive spread because I'm allergic to olives. When they served me, I double checked with the server and she confirmed it was made as per my request, without olives. But I took 1 bite and knew there was olives. I asked my husband to try and he confirmed there was olives. I took apart my sandwich and scraped out the olive spread to prove the olive spread was in fact in my sandwich.
I FORCED MYSELF TO VOMIT IN THEIR BATHROOM. This clearly ruined my entire afternoon and my plans tonight as now I have to stay home and monitor my health. Thank god, my allergy doesn't send me into anaphylaxis. While I was in the bathroom the gentleman behind the bar came around to apologize to my husband and to inform him they would comp my wrap.
I was in their bathroom for almost 10 minutes. When I exited the bathroom, I was obviously crying, my face was flushed, eyes red and watery and not one staff member checked in with me to make sure I was OK. I was at our table for another 5 minutes shaking and crying and not one staff member seemed to care about my mental and physical health. Their restaurant is small and I was sitting in the table directly across from the bar. So their lack of concern was intentional. I understand mistakes happen but failure to comfort the customer in distress especially due to their negligence is such poor service. We immediately left so that I could continue vomitting at home to clear out my system.
I work in hospitality and this is the most important rule of food service. My experience was completely unacceptable. My advice, avoid this place like the plague. A restaurant that doesn't take food allergies seriously probably won't handle food...
Read moreI'd heard a good deal of hype about this place but I managed to miss it for restaurant week this year. So a group of friends and I decided to try it out for dinner (one of my friends was actually Russian). While we soon discovered that the menu didn't have authentic Russian food, we were entertained by the exchange between our friend and the waiter (who was actually Russian).
Two of us ordered the beef stroganoff and two of us got the chicken Kiev. The chicken Kiev came served on a bed of jasmine rice with a carrot and fig compote while the beef stroganoff had thick noodles with a mushroom and black truffle sauce. I thoroughly enjoyed the fig compote but I was disappointed by the chicken. The server offered to cut it open and a buttery sauce dribbled out after the first cut. Normally I'm not one to complain about butter but it was too oily and was sickeningly buttery in an overwhelming way. My friend who got the beef stroganoff seemed to enjoy her meal so maybe I was unlucky and picked the wrong dish this time. See pictures for the cut open chicken Kiev, beef stroganoff...
Read moreA bit overpriced, in my opinion. If I’m paying $17 for a sandwich, I’d at least expect it to come with a side… Not here. Sandwiches range from $13-$18 and a side of fries (or salad) will set you back another $4.50. Aside from that, they tack on a 4% surcharge if you pay with a credit card. I’ve been to other places that charge you for sauce, sure, but the combination of being charged $1 for an ounce of bbq sauce and the overall rude and argumentative demeanor of my server (his name is Phillip) assured that I’d never return to this restaurant.
I ordered a brisket sandwich which was bland and missing the caramelized onions the menu said it came with and my wife wasn’t too pleased with her chicken sandwich… but the soup of the day she ordered and my beer were actually pretty decent, but nowhere near the $65 we paid (two sandwiches, one side of fries, one beer, one soup).
Mediocre overpriced food, being nickel and dimed and a rude server? Definitely not getting my...
