Sarku Japan — Restaurant in New York

UPDATE: 9/11/20

Masks are required to enter this establishment. Staff are wearing masks and gloves. There is a plexiglass installed at the counter to protect both staff and customer. It's so clear and clean that I've hit my hand on numerous occasion thinking that there was nothing between me and my takeout bag.

All of their seating and tables have been removed and pushed to the side. There is only takeout available, no delivery last I checked. That's all the updates I have as of September 2020. Their chicken teriyaki is still a winner in my heart so stop by and show this business some well deserved love. The cashier at the counter is also very nice!

MAY 8, 2020: Just to preface, this place is a fast food type of joint. This isn't some sit down restaurant where you'll be served authentic Japanese cuisine. Nah fam, this is lunch boxes to go! A quick, cheap but tasty meal! And in my honest opinion, they're my top choice for lunch or even dinner sometimes. Currently May 9,2020 they are closed due to the pandemic. Not sure when they'll re-open but I can't wait.

I loved stopping by here (pre-covid-19) to grab some lunch. I usually ordered the chicken teriyaki lunch box with white rice, dumplings and a soda and my brother ordered the beef teriyaki with fried rice. The chicken is well seasoned and not greasy. Sometimes I can't finish the box, so I refrigerate it and eat my leftovers the next day. The chicken and rice microwaves well so that's a bonus.

The space is bright and has always been clean whenever I walked in. I never dine in, just walk in to place my order and take out to go. The staff was nice and I never had any issues or mistakes with my order.

Overall, this place is nice for lunch when you're looking for something a little more substantial and kinda sorta healthier than your run of the mill burger and fries. But again, it's fast food so bear that in mind. Solid place, and they have PARKING. So convenient when you're just popping in to take out.

This place was clean friendly and the food was excellent. I love a great dining experience with authentic food from the people who make Sarku a terrific dining experience. The chefs are fast so there is very little wait time for a nice dining or lunch experience. I love to do food places that have a certain niche and this place has what it takes to take on the huge competition like the big food chains. I have a great affinity towards the place. The management was on site and very helpful. You will have a great dining experience if you love chicken teriyaki order it and write a review of your own and tell others that this is a premiere food establishment and a staple in the community. It seems like everything on the menu was delicious and was plated quite nicely If your up for a family food extravaganza come on down and enjoy some of the best food you can buy. Let your mind go crazy smelling the food as it is prepared right in your site. There is something to be said about places that cook food right in front of you. I guess what I'm saying is you see what you are getting. The quality meats and.vegetables they use are second to none. They have truly set the bar high for other chain stores and restaurants My friends Sarku is here to stay. Come in and visit often for a great meal and a little bit of culture. It was a pleasure for me to eat here and write this fantastic review about this fantastic place. Feel free to give the restaurant suggestions on how to get better. The management is always trying to improve their fresh products and add more dishes to the menu. The choices are great and you will be satisfied with the service. They have shown me the true reason why a great restaurant with a great theme is still a welcome addition to the burgers and fry places. I wasn't sure of this place and the food they served. But because of my curiousity I decided to try it out. I came to the place and the line was surprisingly long. But it moved pretty quickly. Only one cashier though. The second you finish with the order, you are given an electronic device that beeps off once your order is done.
