Shah's Halal Food — Restaurant in New York

After watching a popular influencer on you tube give rave reviews about this place. I had to check it out. Normally, I don't have any faith in influencers, but this particular one was spot on. Because there are so many halal carts, trucks and and small restaurants I usually don't take notice. But this one was absolutely delish I bought the combo meal with lamb and chicken over rice with chickpeas, onions and peppers, A mediterranean style salad with White sauce and green sauce. I was absolutely flabbergasted with just how fresh and flavorful everything is. The rice, the chicken and lamb, the salad , even the chickpeas. I also brought two falafel on the side and baklava. Both were extremely tasty. There is no question I'll be back. Really great fresh food for a reasonable price . It's definitely hard to come by these days! Besides the chicken and lamb combination I have tried the fried fish... Which, by far, has become my favorite to order.. It also is extremely tasty and very fresh. The food is delicious! You can get a bowl or gyro wrap. For protein, they have chicken, lamb with beef, fish, kafta, falafel. The chips are like round fries. You can also get a combo of chicken and lamb which has beef in it too. It's the same price as just chicken or just lamb, which is about $10.99+tax. The lamb is cut up into small cubes. The chicken has an orange color to it. The fish is crusted on the outside. The fish is my favorite. I wasn't going to get it, but wanted to try it. It's so good. You can add any toppings to the platter. I got hummus, chickpeas, cut up cucumbers, cut up tomatoes, sliced onions. It's a big serving, so I had leftovers. The rice is pretty good too, but it's a little bit oily.

Staff was very nice. He let me try the chip. They were very busy in the mid-afternoon and with delivery orders also. The food can take a while since they make more food fresh as they refill the containers on the counter. The fish is a bit of a wait since they cook it to order, but it is so tasty.

Today around 1:15-1:25AM i go in getting a crazy staredown from the person at the counter since i walked in along with someone else who had been gotten their food already i walked in i asked if he was still making food because of the look i got he said yes i asked for a Chicken and lamb over rice keep in mind the other person that was their and the counter person kept starring at me up and down like i wasnt supposed to be their but thats fine i get my food i go outside and thats when i noticed the other person only left until i left like if i was a threat i waited outside knowing because of that nasty look i was getting since i walked in.Heres a tip dont hire people who are gonna have a nasty attitude ill stick to the Halal cart by chase much...
