I absolutely love the food here, but make sure you ask how long before ordering. My order today took almost an hour. That means I sat for 40 plus minutes waiting for my order. It would be cool if I was told in advance, but nope, they just let me sit there. That is not cool. I just got my order right at this moment (3:54pm). See photo for receipt, it shows when I ordered it (3:13pm). Before the owner tries to combat this review with insults and or excuses (as I've seen in many previous reviews of this place), let me clarify a few things. When I arrived, one person just left with their order, but no other customer was there. Four other customers arrived as I was there; only one was left when I got my order. The problem was not busyness, it was the way the guys took their sweet time doing everything. I saw, when they finally put my fish in the fryer (after 30 minutes), the guy took literally 4 minutes just putting the fish into the fryer! I guess the boss was not in today... Another point to be made here. I have frequented this establishment plenty of times before, and have been told there is a wait in the past. THIS IS OK! What was annoying today was how they just let me sit there and said nothing. When I complained, the employee said he "didn't know it was going to take so long." So that's why I was not informed, according to him. This is a food establishment. No one expects to wait so long for two sandwiches without fair warning. Finally, I have many reviews for Google, and am a pretty high level reviewer for them. I don't make reviews just to be petty. I hoped to give this establishment a five star review, as their food merits it. But what happened today was very poor customer service. There is no other way...
Read moreWell, visiting this establishment was long overdue. It’s in the neighborhood and I’ve heard great things about them. I placed an order for pick up through UE on 4/11 at 8:15pm, arrived at the restaurant 8:50pm. Unfortunately, the food wasn’t ready. Waited 30 minutes - still nothing. At this point other customers began complaining - one expressed being there for over an hour prior to our arrival. It’s now 9:25pm and still no food. There’s no one at the counter either so I called. The worker states it’s being plated now. Well another 30 minutes passes - and at this point I’m over it. Well, 10:05pm the food is finally received.
From placing the order on the app, arriving 30 minutes later and still having to wait 1 hour and 15 minutes I was vexed. Even worse, I arrived home to see I received the wrong order. I called the restaurant and explained to them I ordered whiting but received catfish (which I dislike). Worker was extremely apologetic and admitted it was a hectic evening - ran out of whiting and had to serve customers catfish. Now, I can’t review the catfish but the shrimp was fine. I ordered w/o sauces so there wasn't much flavor but regardless it didn't taste bad. The honey jerk wings were good - perhaps better than the shrimp.
First experience was disastrous. However, KUDOS to the worker who was understanding and did his best to attempt to rectify.
I do plan to return to update this review after a second visit. Just have to make sure to avoid Friday...
Read moreCame here for lunch with my girlfriend and decided to try a couple different things. I ordered the shrimp n lobster Rasta pasta, crab fries, oxtail plantain boat, catfish sandwich supreme on coco bread and alcoholic beverage with strawberry lemonade and hypnotic n tequila and a watermelon juice. Everything was made to order took about 25 mins but I had no problem with that since it was stated beforehand and food was fresh. My total was about 85 dollars which was great for the amount of food and drinks we got. I ate in my car since I wanted everything hot n crispy. My Rasta pasta had great flavor it was on point had lil spice which I love n had good amount of the proteins. The crab fries had to be our favorite the fries was cooked perfect and the crab and sauce on top went well together. The oxtail plantain boat was good as well just wished there was more oxtail but for the price 10 dollars couldn’t be mad. The catfish sandwich with coco bread coleslaw and cheese was great too I’m not really a fan of coleslaw but this worked so well. My alcoholic strawberry lemonade was really good as well as the watermelon juice which was not overly sweet. Had a great experience and would recommend this place to anyone thinking...
