Read moreWe visited Roast & Co Café on a sunny afternoon while waiting for my daughter to finish work, and it turned out to be such a pleasant surprise. The moment we stepped in, we were struck by how beautifully decorated and cozy the place is. It has a warm, welcoming atmosphere that immediately makes you want to sit down, relax, and enjoy your coffee. The décor is charming and full of thoughtful details, it actually reminded us of the small Parisian brasseries in France, with its tasteful design and inviting energy.
The café offers both indoor seating and a lovely outdoor terrace. Since it was a gorgeous day, the terrace was full, so we decided to sit inside. The indoor space was lively but comfortable, filled with regulars chatting or working quietly on their laptops. We ordered two cappuccinos, one regular and one made with unsweetened almond milk, which they had available. The coffees were prepared with care and attention to detail, and you could tell they use high-quality beans. The aroma alone was wonderful.
The barista behind the counter was friendly, cheerful, and clearly knew many of the customers by name. It gave the café a genuine neighborhood feel that’s hard to find.
We enjoyed sitting there, sipping our cappuccinos, and just soaking in the atmosphere. Even though we didn’t try the food this time, we took a look at the menu, there’s a great selection of light dishes, cookies, and pastries, and everything we saw being served looked fresh and delicious. You could tell people were enjoying their meals. Before leaving, we had a nice chat with the owner, who was very friendly and clearly passionate about the place. It’s always nice to see a business where hospitality feels genuine and effortless. Overall, Roast & Co Café is a delightful spot, beautifully designed, welcoming, and full of good energy.
The coffee is excellent, the service is warm, and it’s the kind of place that makes you want to come back. We’ll definitely return soon, maybe next time to try their...
Read moreThe word "finally" really does seem appropriate when writing a review for Roast and Co's sparkling new location next to the Kew Gardens LIRR stop. And it feels really, REALLY good to have them in the neighborhood, because finally we have a coffee ship that offers:
Organic food and drink options, ie. eggs, matcha, teas, etc. The chai latte is really terrific. Incredible "foodie" grade baked goods delivered daily from the amazing Ceci Cela and Balthazar. The almond croissant is noteworthy in its deliciousness. Wonderful and genuinely friendly customer service that seems willing to listen to customer concerns and suggestions. Hours of operation on Saturdays (this is huge). Cute, quaint, and comfortable decor and furnishings.
If the huge stack of food receipts impaled on the check spindle at the cash register this past Sunday - as my girlfriend and I finished off their delicious (and one-time-only; please bring them back!!!) egg, cheese, and brioche sandwiches - is any indication, I think the neighborhood is as excited about Roast's second location as I am. The several times we were there, we observed plenty of customers seated at this location, as well as those coming and going with orders.
These guys really do seem poised for long term success in Kew Gardens, and I am super happy about that. Congratulations, folks, and welcome to the...
