The food was ok I guess. I wouldn't say it was good but that's probably because I was so annoyed when I left. I don't have high expectations when I go to Jamaican restaurants as being rude to customers seems to be a standard but this was a new low. The place was a mess! While serving two plates, I couldn't even place the container down because the counters were so nasty. The surface above the food was dusty and grimey and the counters were filthy with food and mysterious liquids. I asked the women working (and by working, I mean sitting in the dining area lounging) if she had something to wipe the counter down, she responded "yes" and then stared at me blankly for several seconds until I followed up with "could you use it to clean this up, I have nowhere to set this down while I serve my food" to which she responded reluctantly "yeah he will come" and pointed in the direction of the kitchen and then LOOKED AWAY as if to tell me she's no answering any more of my questions. "He" never arrived to clean it. In fact, I took the attached picture on my way out after serving my food, going back to my car (b/c I forgot my ID to use my credit card), returning, waiting on line (behind 2 customers), and paying for my food .. if you can imagine how long that took and it still was not cleaned. If I wasn't starving and already running behind on my errands, I wouldn't have purchased anything from here. Needless to say, I'll never go back....
Read moreWonderful array of menus, but needs a lot of skills and training in how foods are displayed and packaged
Reduce the amount of salt in meals. Ste vegetables, not cook them.
Display cooked food in the whole state not pieces. Clean up the chicken wings before baking/jerking . I have on 3 occasions found feathers embedded. Have raw vegetables added to the array of food display. There was none the last time I visited, and when I enquired the woman emphatically answered, "Yes we have vegetables,". And she pointed to the ash with the steamed broccoli/sweet peppers/carrot without batting an eye. I had to politely and kindly inform her that that was not called raw Vegetables, they are steamed. She glared at me unbelievably.
Customer service is lacking greatly. Needs better ambiance. Labels must match with foods. Not everyone who comes in is a Jamaican Food is palatable. No it please have complete utensils for customers to use. How can you be serving food and you have no knives included with the utensils 🙄 Come on man that's not how wi...
Read moreThe place was fairly empty considering the time 4 pm afternoon which was great for us. My fiancé and I were traveling on the road with our two week old infant and decided to stop in and “support our own” it was dimmed lighting, food was prepared and laid out well not to mention labeled too. As it being my first time I was astounded to find out two medium plates literally fixed the same way we get from other caribbean restaurants in the Bronx actually ended up costing us double what we normally pay! Omg I’m still speechless! I honestly didn’t even enjoy the food because I felt robbed. The cashier lady was very pleasant and thus made the dining experience somewhat worthy! Unfortunately I feel robbed and would not be coming back, I had a medium size rice curry goat curry chicken and some Mac and cheese and my fiancé had rice and peas, cabbage, oxtail, and Mac and cheese and both plates came up to $70.70! Food was regular as well, nothing too spectacular. Sigh 😞 wish I had a better experience, but I will not be...
