Sophia Deli & Grocery — Restaurant in New York

This place is a joke, everything is extremely over priced, a hero ham and cheese sandwich $8.50!!!!! A small red bull $2.95!!!! If you ask for a container to take your food .50 for it, they charge you for the cup of ice if you want iced coffee and you have to make it your self, I mean it's just a joke these ppl have no soul or consideration of hard working people, my husband works at the hospital across it, when they are ordering on the phone they have to ask one of his Asian coworkers to order in their language in order not to get over priced in the already over inflated prices, if you go there in scrubs or any type of hospital uniform you will be paying even more than what you pay at the already expensive stuff one 20 Oz soda almost $3.00 I may be calling 311 and ask where I can call about this situation this is just ridiculous, the owners of the place abuse their power just because they know ppl have to go to them because there is no other place near by, today I payed almost $30.00 for two ham and cheese heroes, two small red bulls an...

This review stems from an experience that I just had about 15 minutes ago. I went in to get some breakfast and ended up ordering a Greek omelette with some extra bacon which was an extra two dollars on their menu. The Greek omelette is $9.99 and when the older asian gentleman with the glasses who rung my order up charged me an extra $1 thinking I didn’t notice. His excuse was the rising cost of eggs but if that’s the case reflect that in the menu price posted on the tvs within the store and take out menus. All this to say, I implore everyone make sure they ask the price for everything they are paying for to make sure they are not getting screwed out of their money. I just moved here last September and have been frequenting this place since then, so I could only imagine if they’ve charged me extra without informing me during previous visits. This place is expensive as it is and I don’t know if that’s because they’re across the street from the hospital or because stuff is just that expensive or if they may be even price gouging...

I recently visited Sophia Deli & Grocery, and I can confidently say it was a complete waste of time and money. The prices are ridiculously high for basic items you can find much cheaper elsewhere. I have no idea how this place is even allowed to operate with such blatant price gouging. The selection is limited, and half the products look like they’ve been sitting there for months. The staff is unfriendly and seems annoyed when you ask a question. The store itself is cramped and poorly organized, making it frustrating to navigate. The quality of their food is questionable at best, and I wouldn’t trust anything from their deli section. It’s clear they’re just trying to take advantage of people who don’t have other options nearby. There are plenty of better places to shop, so do yourself a favor and avoid this overpriced, poorly managed store. I will never be coming back, and I strongly recommend others stay...
