My husband and I finished a dr's appointment and found this place while driving home. As soon as we enter we saw so much clutter I told my husband I don't know if I want to eat here. Let me start by saying the food was delicious and the waiter was very friendly and professional. The only thing about this diner is the amount of dirt everywhere, salt and pepper were almost finished and so dirty, no sugar either, and the tables were scratched and you can see the dirty wood, I can't imagine the amount of germs in that table, it was sticky and it's hard to sit and enjoy a meal while looking at a dirty fan and super dirty vent. Then I went to the bathroom and the toilet paper was on the floor and it was wet with urine, the smell was horrible and the sink had pubic hairs, yes multiple curls. Just gross 🤢🤮 If the manager/owner is reading this please take a few minutes and fix the toilet paper holder, it takes a few minutes and clean that vent and fans because all that dust goes into the food. The food and service is great but unfortunately I would not be coming back to Staten Island Diner because of the dirtiness. If that's the front of the house I can't imagine the back of the house. How dirty is that grill where they cook meats and pancakes? I almost vomited in the bathroom, it's so 🤢 gross 🤮. Please do better, that's how people get sick and I can't believe the health department doesn't get call...
Read moreI honestly like the Staten Island diner very much. My family and I order from there at least once a week and we never had a problem. A few days ago I ordered a mykonos salad( which I always order with extra pita bread and extra dressing) and it has never been a problem for over a year. They gave me ranch instead of the normal dressing it came with so I called to ask them to bring it since they also forgot my brother's lemonade. The girl on the phone(later to find out her names amber) was very nasty and claimed she was not sending anyone to bring it, even though I only live two blocks away. I just ordered from them again today and recognized the girl's voice so I just tried to politely clarify what dressing I wanted this time and she said she remembered me and started fighting with me. I think this was very unprofessional and I was really taken back by her anger. I just wanted to same dressing I always got I didn't mean to make her mad. I asked for her name and she said it was Amber. I always liked the diner very much and never had a problem with their customer service until recently, everyone seems very nice but amber seemed to ruin my experience at this diner. Very nasty for...
Read moreGood food. Service sucks. Initially sat at counter. It was just me and only boothes were available. I waited and waited. No one said anything to me. Not " no counter service." Not "will be with you in a second."
A table opened up, table 8, and I sat there hoping for better. Nope.
Again I waited to be handed a menu. Older Latino guy grabbed menus for the table next to me, but not one for me. I had to ask him for a menu. He looked like he didn't want to give me one. The menus were right by my table. It not like he had to go across the diner.
Younger man came to take my order. Great. I asked for tea. Had to wait for this too. Watched the older gentleman get beverages for every table except mine.
I waved at the younger gentleman. He nodded. I thought he was going to get my tea. Nope. He went back towards the kitchen and came out without my tea.
I finally got the tea after the food came.
I felt like they didn't want to serve me.
Won't be going back.
The food was good. Only wished the Philly cheesesteak omelet...
