I want to give this place no less than two stars just because the beautiful and lovely lady that was first in the bar was delightful and attentive - but I am offended now, so here a single star.
I came to this place from great reference from a few friends of mine and some neighbors. All went great until this man - named Bryan1 on my receipt - switching the shift with the nice lady who greeted me before at the bar when I came in. I asked him for a beer, and then I accidentally said a word in Spanish (my native language). Then this random policeman (who seem to know him well, is a regular or his friend) - that just stepped in a few minutes ago started saying some racist comment about me saying a word in Spanish and Bryan follow the man comment with a positive tone and the policeman continued his rude comments. Whatever! Fine! I finished my beer and asked to close my tap, and the rude police man got up from his chair to over look my receipt and babble. I told the bartender that his "friend" is rude and that I dont apreciate that. He didnt even apologise.
For an hour I was having a really good time on my own - eating a nice brunch and fresh mimosas - until they pissed me off. - Is that how you gain your tips... accepting rude attitudes from your friends or other customers towars other customers? , Oh I see, is because he is a police man and he is entitler to. Thanks but not thanks!
I never have an awful experience like this before. I usually go to new restaurants/bars on my own and expend 2-3 hours that easily turn to over $80 dollars and leave 22% on tips. But this dude can ask his "friend" to tip him because from me his not getting any. Terrible last impresion!
Btw, I asked him to ask in the kitchen what cheese selection they have for the meat & cheese plate, said he would ask but...
Read moreMy friends threw an event there in the downstairs area the other night. Upon entering, two of my friends suggested taking shots and both offered their cards for the first two rounds. As they weren’t my cards, I didn’t tip the bartender and, on the second round, he became very sarcastic and disrespectful. When my turn to get the shots approached, I had full intention on tipping him out, but he immediately denied me service (rudely, at that), stating there was a “Three Strike” policy, in which I hadn’t yet violated (as this was my third turn.) I explained the situation, but he continued to be disrespectful, and eventually my friends got involved. In an attempt to de-escalate the situation, I approached the bar upstairs, ordered my shots, and tipped the bartender double the recommended amount. Heading back down, I handed them the shots, and showed the bartender that I had full intention on tipping him, even getting my friends to stop arguing with him. He then called security to escort me out, to which I complied without much fuss. I was not drunk - as my friend has already written a review in which your response tried to defame my character. If there is a problem, I have no problem showing up in person again to have a conversation, but I also have testimony that that was not that bartender’s first offense that night, as he tried to provoke one of my friends who was renting out the space...
Read moreI hadn’t been to this spot in ages, but met up with some friends here for Svmmon. The dj upstairs was absolutely great, and played a wide range of music, which was awesome! The food we ordered was also delightful, and their food servers are very kind and attentive, but good god are the bartenders rude!!! They guy bartender all but openly rolled his eyes at me, and was incredibly impatient. I get it, buddy, I work a service job too, and also had a long day at work but I literally just got here and didn’t do anything to you. The vodka lemonade also wasn’t good enough to justify the pithy attitude. It’s a vodka lemonade, guys. As I peruse the reviews, I see that I am not the only person to have this experience, and that this has been an issue going back several months. I can’t help but wonder: are they trying to make it a gimmick? Ed Debevic’s, I...
