BELIEVE ALL OF THE NEGATIVE REVIEWS!

10/1/24 changed my review from 5 stars to 1 star, you can read my original 5 star review at the bottom.

Finding a consistently good nail salon in Bushwick has been impossible, but this experience has been by far the worst. The infamous “blonde woman” who is the owner that many speak of in the negative reviews is one of the most vile business owners I have ever encountered. Here is the timeline of events:

9/20/24 - read review below for more details. First time customer. Wanted to love the place & had high hopes that I would. Full set of powder dip nails cost $70 (+$10 tip) most I ever paid but thought if they last then it’s worth it. My middle fingernail was broken so the nail tech applied a small square of extension paper to repair. This piece of information will be relevant later.

9/27/24 - noticed after 6 days that 3 of the nails were lifting from the cuticle. That has never happened to me before with dip powder nails, especially at that price. I went back and the same lady who did my nails removed the 3 nails and did them over again. This includes the middle finger that the extension had previously been applied to.

10/1/24 - noticed on 9/30 that my nails were lifting again! The ones that were redone on 9/27 and other ones. The scariest part was the middle finger that was redone looked like it was a different color under (my polish was a sheer pink) and now I’m thinking fungus. I go back and the same tech takes me. She started removing most of them and when she takes off the middle finger powder, it is GREEN! This happened between 9/27 and 10/1 since this was a nail she had redone from scratch. I was horrified. I tell her to just remove all of them at this point because I’m scared that the other ones may be green. By the way, the techs only speak Spanish except for the blonde owner. I speak a little Spanish, but not enough to really break down what I’m trying to say about the green nail. I’m asking in Spanish if there’s anyone I can speak English to about this and I was directed to the bleach blonde woman. I gave her the timeline and immediately, as many others have stated in previous reviews, she blames me! She says it must be something you did, that didn’t happen here. And she’s caught up on the 10 days part saying it’s been 10 days, maybe if it was 3-4 days, but it’s been 10 days you must’ve did something wrong. I said this is the nail that was redone on Friday so that was 4 days ago, it wasn’t like that on Friday. And she’s just there smirking like “I don’t know, it’s you, not us. Maybe you did dishes or something.” I’m like what can be done about this? And she’s like “I don’t know” with her dismissive tone and smirk. And then she’s telling them in Spanish how it’s been 10 days and I’ll have to pay again. She didn’t even get up to look at my nail. She’s not even a nail tech herself. So now I'm just done, I have to address this green nail and I’m definitely not paying for another full set. After all was said & done, I was charged $15 for the removal! So I’m leaving with my bare nails and one green nail. And not paying wasn’t an option because you have to be let out by them since the door is locked. I realized the security measures I was praising in my original 5 star review are because there is a free charging station in front of the salon where crackheads gather to charge their phones. I saw about 5 during my short visit.

I am absolutely disgusted with the treatment I received from the vile owner. I spent a total of $95 at this place within 10 days and now all I have to show for it are bare ugly nails and one green nail. Avoid this place at all costs!

ORIGINAL 5 STAR REVIEW LEFT ON 9/20/24: I just went for the first time today and had a great experience. Luly did my dip powder manicure and she did a beautiful job. She was very attentive and careful. I love the color. The place is very clean and I like how they have to buzz people in. It made me feel safe, especially with how things have been lately. Looks like I may have found my...

Yes I took time to write this long review so many people can think twice about coming here. If there service wasn’t as bad I wouldn’t have took time out of my day to write this long disappointing review about this place & if I was able to give them a NO star review I would have.

I tried to give this place many, many chances because they are one of the few places in bushwick that will accept cards. Now, I came here once with my mom to get our pedicure done. After the owner or the manager with the blonde hair ( who does hair only ) asked as what we were getting. I said pedicure for 2 and she just gave us a nasty attitude. I than didn’t want to do my toes anymore, since I had already made my mom come with me I just let her do her toes only. The lady who did her toes was okay but than my mom asked if she can please take out her in-grown nails? The manager or the boss than quickly responded “ that is an extra charge because it takes more time “. I couldn’t be more upset, not at the fact that it was an extra charge but at how disgustingly she quickly insisted we need to pay additional. They already charge you for the color you pick out depending on what brand the polish is from and now you’re telling me it’s extra to take out in-grown nails? Well I than couldn’t be more disappointed because she was not very welcoming since we got there. My mom couldn’t be any more uncomfortable but I told her it’s okay she wasn’t going to pay so she didn’t have to worry, my mother did not really like the service but there I am trying to convince my mom “ hey maybe she’s having a bad day but this lady is never welcoming so don’t let it get to you. “

Now, what really upset me is the fact that I went back about a week ago to do my eyebrows and to wax my top lip. The young lady who did my eyebrows had no consideration and as soon as she would place the wax she would immediately pull it off without a warning or anything. Cool I get it, that’s what waxing is about right? It’s going to be painful but wow a heads up would’ve been great! The part that got me the most was when I was finally done and ready to settle for payment. When the young lady who had already finished with me took me to the register, the same blonde lady who is the manager/boss/owner or whatever she is was so rude. I asked if I can pay with Apple Pay because my wallet was inside my book bag and I did not want to take it out. She instantly said “ are you sure “ I answered “ yes, I am “ which I found weird that she asked me that. To than come to hear the next thing she told me “ are you sure, because not to sound rude but many Hispanics who come in here never have enough money in their cards so I want to make sure you have money to pay me for what you just got done. “ I than couldn’t believe what she had just told me? How can you tell someone that? I was so upset at how someone can say such a thing like that. She does not realize this is how you lose costumers, VALUABLE COSTUMERS TOO. This is ridiculous I honestly tried so hard to give this place change after chance & it was just disappointment after disappointment. I think we should treat our customers as we would like to be treated. I’ve been working in costumer service for many years and the customer service here is...

7/7/2023-update review from what the owner said. Well am never going back and it's sad how you as a owners let one of your employees talk to me so rude in front of everyone. You cover up for her when there are others who also complain about her rudeness. You will keep losing clients because of her.

After coming here for so long, today was the last time I showed my face. The lady with blond hair who is in charge was very rude to me before I even sat down. Telling me to don't spray nothing, which I did not and was not going to. It's hard for everybody to overcome the fear of Covid. When Covid started, I always would spray alchol where I go because sometimes people don't clean. There have been times when I come to this place, and the lady with blond hair has been very rude to me. I normally don't pay her mind because the ladies normally treat me well. But today was the worst experience ever. I was tired and going to get a manicure, and she stated telling me not to spray nothing and how she know people from wyckoff and how they know she cleans. Today was far worse. This blond lady who is the only blond there has been super super rude today by telling me things in front of her client. I hope the owner sees this because of her the owner will lose more customers. Hopefully, more Wyckoff employees and employers stop going to this place because the way this lady is super rude, I don't recommend it o and by the way she was having the client agree with everything she was saying to me which was rude. I forgot to mention how one time when I did a manicure there the lady with blond hair told her employee who looked terrified of her to have me wash my hands where people do there pedicures and the employee listen to her. The lady who is quiet by the register is the lady who took care of me rt where the angry blond sits. Even if you ask her, she is so terrified of the blond lady that I thought she said anything bad regarding what happened because she was...

I don’t recommend this salon and here’s why. I’m not a very picky person. I stopped by because the original salon I was going to was too far and happened to come across this place along the way - BAD IDEA!!!! After waiting for ten minutes even though I was the only customer in the shop, I finally sat down. Long story short if you’re not of Hispanic decent you probably won’t get proper treatment, my toes came out STREAKY AND ROUGH, there’s no shape to my toes she just clipped them, the paint around the cuticles look bad, and lastly, there was a rip in my big toe that the lady left untouched…. USUALLY the person doing my toes would put nail glue to stop my toe nail from ripping any further but nope…she did nothing. Icing on the cake was that she didn’t even get dead skin off my foot. I can do a better job scrubbing my foot with a loofa and some bath soap. Anyhow, please save yourself the hassle and find anywhere else to go. I sadly didn’t read any reviews before walking into this place and I wish I had. A 3 star rating is never okay…. These photos were taking two days after the pedicure…when I realized I was bamboozled.

Happy nails is my favorite nail salon in NYC. The ladies are all so friendly and do an amazing job. I get compliments on every set of acrylics I get and they are very sturdy and long lasting for a very reasonable price. Being a regular at Haply Nails I can say the work they do is second to none and the hospitality they provide is unrivaled. Keep up the amazing work ladies.
