I didn’t realize that there were two DIFFERENT restaurants in the same building. Their decor is also pretty similar with all the One Piece “WANTED” poster.. don’t be like me and if you’re meeting people for ramen IT’S ON THE GROUND FLOOR. Izakaya (I was sitting up there reading their menu for a bit lol) has yakitori and Japanese hot pot.
I came here with my fam and kiddo on a Friday night. We were able to get a table no problem and there were two different servers manning the restaurant. They were so friendly with our toddler, allowed us to walk around with her so she wouldn’t get fussy during our meal, and were just fantastic.
The ramen wasn’t the best I’ve ever had BUT for the price per bowl it’s definitely worth it. We also got a couple of apps which were delicious as well. The best one we ordered, hands down, had to be the agedashi tofu. Usually at other restaurants I’d get a couple small square blocks of fried tofu and some sauce. Here, you get a bunch of bonito flakes that added that extra umami flavor, scallions, and pickled radish. Delish!
We were surprised with mochi ice cream on the house at the end of the meal and if that wasn’t a sweet enough deal, if you pay with cash you have an 8% discount. It was definitely one of my family cheaper dinner nights out and we’ll...
Read moreWas walking on Bell Blvd and saw Tamashii and was surprised because I never noticed it before. The front aesthetics were very cute and when I walked in, it reminded me of a Japanese ramen shop. They gave us edamame on the house as we were waiting for our food. My boyfriend got the Chasyu ramen and I got the Kara Miso ramen. I really enjoyed my ramen, but unfortunately, my boyfriend did not enjoy his. The Chasyu ramen broth was not rich in flavor and was kind of watery and bland. The noodle texture was fine and I feel like they didn't give that many pieces of chasyu when the menu literally said extra pork slices. Even though his ramen didn't hit the spot, I think my Kara Miso was great. The spice level was perfect and the broth was nice and rich. The noodle texture was good and all the toppings in the bowl were filling. Overall, the price is average and the ramen was decent. I'd recommend coming here to try. and hopefully their Chasyu ramen broth...
Read moreFor me, it's the chasyu ramen, Tamashii's best ramen. I even ask for extra soy sauce and the staff is so friendly and more than willing to oblige.
One time I asked for soy sauce and they gave me three servings. I said, "Wow, three for free!" and the nice friendly Tamashii worker laughed and said, "I'm going to call you 3-for-free!".
Now the staff greets me with "hey it's 3-for-free!" and ALWAYS give me three servings. It's such a fun and cool atmosphere at my local Tamashii chain, I go there at least 3 times a week for ramen and a large cup of sake, 1-2 times for lunch on the weekend, and maybe once for dinner when I'm in a rush but want a great meal that is affordable, fast, and can match my daily nutritional needs.
I even dip my tako-wasabi in their soy sauce, it's delicious! What a...
