2024 UPDATE: I just held my third in-person course for educators at the Adria. Each time an event is held here, the staff is spectacular! Haroon, Michael, and Jose were so attentive and helpful. They went above and beyond what was expected to make sure that our event flowed seamlessly. As a result, all of the 45 attendees rated the course 5/5 -- a perfect score! Thank you so much, once again, for making this event a great success!!! 2023 -- I held an all day in-person course at the Adria Hotel and Conference Center this week. What a great experience! Corinne Sodano, the sales director, was so easy to reach and helpful as I made decisions about which rooms and refreshments to select. On the day of the course, the Adria staff was incredibly accommodating and responsive. They arrived early to ensure that the tables, chairs, food, and beverages were all ready for my group. At 7 am, two technical specialists helped me connect my laptop to the projector, the internet, and the sound system. They hung instructional posters on the wall quickly and easily for us. Every detail was covered by the staff's attentive care. My workshop was a huge success and I'm hoping to hold future events at this lovely location. A big thank you to the Adria for making my course such a great experience for everyone!

The staff are nice. The room wasn’t the best. Our towels had stains on them. The bath tub was small. The tub becomes a pool while showering. That is never fun. The toilet was low to the ground and did not look clean. Only one elevator. The breakfast has good options. Fast food is near by such as buger king, Wendy’s and McDonald’s.

The hotel room was 77 degrees F when we got in. The hotel has no AC in the fall. The managers solution was to tell us to open the window and give us a fan. One customer had a room that was 102F and one woman checked out when I was asking about the AC because her room was 88F. The shower was also in need of service.

I booked this during Christmas 2022. My main concern was (free)parking and breakfast, as most hotel reviews were mixed with neither of those. This place had both! Private free parking that was very close to the elevator, perfect for the -3 degrees of frigid wind we experienced. The guy who checked me in at almost 2am was very nice and let me know everything I needed to know. Breakfast was WAY more than I had expected, waffle maker with toppings you can add, 2 types of eggs (they actually made them in a pan, was not bagged eggs like other hotels) sausage, potatoes, breads, various pastries, cereal, juices. The hotel itself is old and had some old things, of course but the room was clean, we checked the bed for bugs and all of that. There was none! The mattress was neatly zipped with a cover. There was indeed cigarette burns all over the carpet by the bed, but ZERO remnants of cigarette smell, as someone who used to smoke I'm super sensitive to the smell of cigarettes and can smell if someone has smoked in a room anytime in the last few months. No smell!

Due to COVID they only cleaned the room every 3 days, which was fine as we respect hotels and don't mindlessly dirty towels and sheets. We totally forgot they would actually clean our room so It did surprise/scare us, as we had opened expensive xmas gifts, left them out and forgot to put the DND on the door. Nothing was touched except my blanket, which I totally thought the housekeepers took accidently in the mess of things, not a big deal I figured I'd get it the next day cleaned I even called the front desk to let them know but... turns out they made the bed WITH my blanket haha, so we found it in the morning. Overall this will be my go-to hotel when visiting my family. I really appreciated the staff and private nature of the hotel. Also thank you to the front desk clerk who checked me out, you made my day. I wish I had gotten a name so I could mention you but thank you so much for your great hospitality and customer service. I doubt i will try any other hotel! See you guys in...

first and last visit: feb 7th

the issue is with the place, and not the staff, needless to say this review is related to our experience (of comfort) during our stay -hence, the review. i don't know how or why it shows that i rated this property a 6 or even a 7 from a third party hotel reservation site.. the rooms do not have air-conditioning since, as per front desk, new york by-laws only require heaters for older hotels. the building itself screams it needs a facelift, and i didn't take pictures of the bad stuff (water-stained overhead boards, slow toilet flush, 6-9 inch window opening acting as the AC, lighting fixtures, lobby furniture, etc!) i don't know how or why this has a higher rating than the neighboring hotel.. it's not like you're greeted or treated as a valued customer. i thought perhaps new york just being new york.. but i got a call at 2am from the front desk (someone) -they dropped the call as soon as they learned they got a wrong room/number! breakfast wasn't worth taking pictures of but enough to get you through lunch without a stomach ache.. and parking area is suffice given not a lot of people stay here but -be warned: hotel has no say with damaged property/vehicles.. anybody can just waltz in the parking lot, not a lot of deterrents, really.. and they have a disclaimer that there have been incidents of break-ins.. so? don't leave anything valuable in vehicles! that says something, no? i doubt I'll be back.. but if you're booking last minute, i suggest you check the place first and compare next door. if the other hotel chain is worse, i guess you'll end up paying close to $150 for something that's worth CAD$80 or less. there's fast food right across.. the only thing that's...

Adria was referred to us by St. John's University Queens campus because it's not far from the campus.

Upon arriving, the young lady that checked us in was very nice. She even changed our room for us the next morning because the shower head was rusted and the ceiling was peeling.

This is hotel is far from the Hilton or the Marriott. Honestly, when I walked in the room, I said to myself, "what have I booked?" Yes, the rooms are that bad. What makes it even worst, the staff said the rooms had been renovated.

They do offer continental breakfast which did include scrambled eggs, sausages, do it yourself waffles, cereal, toast, and juice.

There's a Spanish restaurant next door to the hotel, as well as Best Western.

There is a parking garage.

The Queens bus picks up and drops off in front of the hotel, which is a plus because it makes it easy to get to Manhattan and St. John's University.

I wouldn't recommend this hotel. Go to Long Island and stay in the hotel. It's 20 minutes away from St. John's but the hotels in Long Island make this one look like a dump.

The only reason that I gave this hotel 3 stars was because the staff were nice. The staff rates 4 stars and the hotel itself rates 1 star.

To make matters worst, I was quoted a rate of $127/might because I was visiting St. John's University and was charged $137/night because of 3 people in the room instead of 2 people. That was NEVER mentioned when booking the hotel.

Do yourself a favor and...
