I had the pleasure of dining at Taste of Gyro recently, and I must say, it was a delightful experience. The authenticity of the Greek cuisine here is unmatched. We ordered the gyro and the chicken souvlaki platter, both of which were succulent and full of flavor. The zucchini and eggplant fries were a crispy, delicious surprise, and the hummus was creamy and perfectly seasoned. The grape leaves were another highlight, showcasing the care and authenticity put into each dish.
The owner of Taste of Gyro made our visit even more special. It's evident that this is a passion-driven, family-friendly local business, and their hospitality shines through. They even treated us to complimentary feta fries, which were a delightful addition to our meal.
Overall, I am thrilled to support this new local gem. The combination of delicious, authentic Greek food, warm hospitality, and a family-friendly atmosphere makes Taste of Gyro a must-visit. I can't wait to return and indulge in their culinary...
Read moreHaving lived in Astoria almost 20 years, I've had the pleasure of dining on delicious Greek cuisine, and Taste of Gyro is one of, if not the best Greek food I've tasted. The chicken souvlaki platter has THE MOST flavorful, juicy chicken with incredible fries (that are spiced and cooked to perfection). The Branzini special I had was served with an incredible tomato based sauce that was unlike any I've tasted and out of this world delicious. Be sure to try the zucchini fritters that are fresh, succulent, and served with astounding tzatziki.
Add to this, the most down to earth, friendly, and welcoming staff in a neat, clean, and quiet mom and pop environment, and you've got a place that keeps me coming back. It's just a 5 minute walk off of Ditmars and Steinway, on a quiet residential neighborhood and worth the trip. Do yourself a favor, and delight in the taste sensations they provide, and support hard working folks who put their heart and soul into everything that comes out of...

The sides, from the tomatoes and feta salads to the golden fries, round everything out beautifully. What really makes this place special is the care and love in every dish.
