I have my wedding coming up in a few months and the price of everything (especially the catering) is killing me. I had some old gold kicking around and I wanted to sell it now that the price of gold went up a little bit (highest itâs been in about 6 years). I have to say these guys are honest. If you have some old gold to sell (especially now since the gold market is up), these guys are decent, fair, and honest. Highly recommend working with them. My wife-to-be was with me and after we negotiated a price and sold the our gold, they gave my wife a box of Godiva chocolates. Which was very nice of them. But obviously if you are selling gold, do your due diligence before you walk in there or any other place where youâre selling your gold. Weigh your gold beforehand, make sure you know the carat (usually stamped somewhere on your gold piece), figure out the true world value of your gold piece before you go in anywhere to sell your gold. Thatâs why I gotta say these guys are honest. If youâre in Astoria, I gotta say these guys are good. Would definitely sell gold here again. In the end , my fiancĂ© and I sold all our scrap gold for $1200. Which is going right towards our catering bill for...
Read moreI popped in to K & D to see if someone could help me with two charm bracelets that came off their clasps. The bracelets are from etsy so the durability isn't great. I met Steve who took a look at the bracelets and got to work untagling them and then proceeding to repair them while also telling me not to worry about a payment. He knew the cost of repairing them would be more than the value of the bracelets so he kindly took care of it without asking for money. We wound up talking for a bit and I found him to be a really kind person who really loves what he does and also loves this neighborhood.
I've always thought these stores were a bit shady in my head but that would be incorrect about this place. If you come here, you'll receive honest customer service from an old fashioned establishment that we see less and less of in our...

My fiancé was distraught after the sapphire on her engagement ring fell off. The ring was custom made from a jewelry store in another country but they did such a poor job with the setting that the prongs would easily bend which caused the stone to come off.
Steve not only replaced the prongs with thicker gold to make them rigid but he also resized the ring for her as well at an unbelievably low price that was half off what other local jewelry stores were quoting. And he also polished the ring and stone for FREE!
We will not trust anyone else with our jewelry other than Steve. Heâs extremely honest and brilliantly detailed...
