So whenever I travel far to try out a new restaurant I always call ahed to see if they offer halal meat! The manager told me besides chicken the goat & lamb is halal . So that's a relief So if you are living in the island , and wanna try some good food & spending little extra once in a while is not a problem, give this place a try .
I traveled far just to try out this place . Was it worth it ? It was for once in a while , if I don't feel like going to the city then I will definitely come here . For one person to spend almost $60 on lunch , what you all think ..? I can't effort that on a regular basis !
First of all end of the day if the food is good I tend to say less about the price . Especially where the restaurant is located , I will not complain much about the price .
The second I get seated someone came to give me some water , asked me if I liked to drink anything! I highly appreciate that !
The food was good . Especially the lamb sheekh kabab . $22 for 4 small skinny kabab was a bit pricy ! But it tasted great ! Not dry at all. The goat curry was ok, never seen small pieces like this on a goat curry before ! Cutting the meat so small & putting it on a wider plate to make it look a lot ! The bigger pieces were all bones . The rest was too small, Atleast it didn't taste nasty ! The regular Lassi was good . Loved the naan .
Btw, you can see the place is beautiful! You know me & I had to check out the restroom. it was clean & big enough!
And loved the service . My server was ISHAAN He was polite, helpful. Didn't had to ask him anything, he always kept checking up on me. Much appreciated! Thank...
Read moreI ordered delivery from Taste of India II on a Saturday night. The menu was vast and everything had apt descriptions for those who are unfamiliar with Indian cuisine. I ordered Chef's Special Biryani, Chicken Vindaloo, and an order of garlic naan. The Naan was delicious, with roasted garlic that brings that touch of sweetness. I ordered both of my mains "Hot" and they were spicy without being uncomfortable. The Vindaloo was ordered "regular" I assume that's a mix of both white and dark meat. You can order only white meat for a $2 upcharge. The flavors were on point, and the chicken tender. I could have used more potatoes, but that is just a personal preference. As for the biryani, it came with lamb, chicken, shrimp, and vegetables. The lamb was tender and robust in taste, the chicken delicious with that tandoor orange hue. The shrimp was fresh tasting and had a fantastic mouth feel. The vegetables were a little off putting, but again just personal preference. I'm unused to mushrooms and broccoli being in my Biryani, and while not my favorite, I'm sure others would appreciate their inclusion. All in all this was a pleasant experience. Not the best Indian food I've ever had. It's a little over priced. If you're looking for tasty Indian food that'll sate your craving look no further. If you're looking to have your mind blown,...
Read moreFor my birthday last year, my brother had given me a gift certificate to Taste of India II but I had forgotten about it until he called to wish me a happy birthday this year and asked how I'd liked the restaurant. I confessed that I hadn't gone yet and he reminded me that the certificate might not be honored beyond a year from purchase. I call Taste of India and they said it was no problem. We made a reservation and had a lovely dinner. I liked it so much that, some weeks later, when two of friends called to ask if I wanted to go out to dinner, I suggested we go there. They were both familiar with the place and hardily agreed. My friends are both visibly disabled and this sometime causes problems when we go out together but Taste of India received us with the same wonderful and attentive service I encountered on my first trip there. The food is wonderful and the atmosphere is one of relaxed elegance but the thing that places Taste of India II at the top of the list for me is the sincerely warm and welcoming environment maintained by its...
