I’m not one to ever write reviews but never in my life have I experienced worse management. A group of my friends and I went to The Copper Still for brunch today and saw on the menu that they serve unlimited bloody mary’s or mimosas for a flat rate price of $25. We thought that was reasonable so my friend ordered the mimosas and our waitress asked how many cups we’d be needing. We get our food (which was mediocre) and have a nice brunch together. Come time to pay, our waitress brings us the bill and to our surprise we’ve been charged $175 for the drinks alone. Though the price seemed a bit low, not anywhere on the menu did they clarify that the rate was per person, nor did our waitress make that transparent. If we had known this was the case we would have never ordered the drinks. We each only drank about a glass- making a single drink $25. When we asked our waitress about this, she became annoyed and begrudgingly said she’ll get her manager. The manager came over and from the get-go was extremely condescending towards our table of 7 young women. He spoke to us in an extremely patronizing way, asking “Did you REALLY think the price would be that low?Come on now”. We explained how not anywhere on any menu was it stated that the rate was per person nor did our waitress explain this to us. Instead of listening to our advice about being more transparent with customers, he continued to patronize us. He said that there was “no way” he would be taking over $100 worth of drinks off of the bill- something we never asked him to do in the first place. We explained that our plan wasn’t to jip him out of money but rather tell him how misleading not only the menu, but his staff were. He continued to talk down to us as if we were children, and when I confronted him and told him how disrespectful he was being, instead of apologizing, he just denied acting in such a way. He took off two of the charges (still equating to over $100) saying that was the best he could do. Even if the price was “too good to be true”, a restaurant should be transparent to their patrons about the money they’re spending. Prices aside, the manager behaved awfully towards us. I’m not upset so much about how much I had to pay but rather the way I was spoken to. I have never felt so disrespected at any restaurant or other establishment. I still am dumbfounded thinking about the way he spoke to my friends and I. As a manager, he should know better. I will never be returning. I live in the area and I’m going to be spreading the word about just how incredibly rude the manager of this establishment is and discourage them from going as well. I hope they can learn some transparency but more importantly how to treat customers with some respect-...
Read more6/25/23 It was a nice evening so we sat outside. We had the big pretzel, that was really good! Brussels sprouts, they were very good. Also split the fish tacos, they were good but STILL not double wrapped. They held together a little bit better this time because they were not so wet. The beer was cold and the service was good. Really easy to split the check with the new Toast device. I like that the sinks to wash up are not in the bathroom.
4/3/21 Back for dinner. We sat outside and split the fish tacos and a burger. The tacos are soft corn tortillas and SHOULD be Double wrapped. They were not and fell apart :( really? Are you telling me the chef doesn't eat them or know that a single corn tortilla does not hold up to anything wet? They did taste good, I would get them again but ask for double wrap.
The Burger was fine. The Tater-Tots were good but at $8 it was a bit steep for my GF who was under the impression that they were homemade. I informed her there are no homemade Tater-Tots ;) The Service was 50/50. We had a new waitress that is still learning and didn't check on us. The waiter that helped us with beer was great. The guy who brought our food never came back with the steak knife and extra plate we asked for. Certainly not all that bad and we will come back.
9/28/19 update: back for brunch, sat inside. I had the Eggs Benedict, really good with a thick piece of ham (~¼") see photo. Gf had the breakfast burrito- she said it was the best one she's ever had (her words, not mine). I'll have to try it next time. Coffee still great & server was really nice.
We had brunch here, sat outside. Service was good. No Sweet N Low. Coffee was good. We had the Eggs Florentine, very good and a good amount of food with the potatoes and salad. Coffee+free refill was included in the price, so we liked that we didn't end up with a huge brunch bill. Friendly staff-...
Read moreWe were looking for a place to eat before an 8 PM curtain and happened upon The Copper Still. The place looked clean, airy and inviting so we decided to give it a try. It quickly became apparent that this establishment was focused on selling pricey single-malt liquor and not much else. The glass of Riesling I asked for was definitely a Sauvignon Blanc and my wife's Amaretto Sour came in a stem glass without ice. As they do not offer bread or chips to snack on while waiting for your meal, we ordered their large pretzel, which was warm and good and served with excellent mustard. My wife ordered a spicy pulled-pork over vermicelli which was spicy as advertised but had so little meat it could have made it to the vegetarian section of the menu. My fish and chips with cole slaw and home-made tartar sauce was agreeably not greasy but somehow managed to be entirely flavor-free. Honestly, the water had more taste. The staff were pleasant but not well-trained (the expediter identified my plate as chicken when it was served) and seemed to get in one another's way all evening. Finally, although the place was not overly crowded, something about the acoustics made for a very loud, though never jolly, atmosphere. I guess we'd sum up the experience as...
