My post photo description: 🌮🍹 Calling all food lovers in Brooklyn! 🌮🍹 I recently had the pleasure of discovering The Taco Bar, a vibrant Mexican restaurant and tequila bar nestled in the heart of Bedford Stuyvesant. Let me tell you, it was an experience like no other! 🌟 From the moment I stepped inside, I was greeted with a lively atmosphere and the irresistible aroma of sizzling spices. The Taco Bar is known for serving the most delectable tacos, burrito bowls, and margaritas, and let me tell you, they did not disappoint! 🤤 To kick off my culinary adventure, I couldn't resist indulging in a refreshing strawberry Margarita and a fiery flaming Old Fashioned. These delightful libations set the tone for the feast that awaited me. Cheers to that! 🍹🔥 For starters, I treated myself to Empanadas filled with savory goodness and a mouthwatering Cheeseburger that boasted a tantalizing combination of ground beef, cheddar cheese, bacon, jalapenos, and crisp lettuce. The flavors were out of this world! 🍔🌯 Next on the menu was the famous Elote Street Corn. This mouthwatering dish was adorned with a creamy mayo, tangy cotija cheese, and a sprinkle of tajin. Believe me when I say, it transported me straight to the streets of Mexico! 🌽🇲🇽 I couldn't resist sampling the Crispy Wings, available in Plain Buffalo and Honey Chipotle variations. Each bite was crispy, juicy, and packed with flavor. Finger-licking good! 🍗🔥 To satisfy my seafood cravings, I devoured the Fried Fish Taco. The perfectly fried tilapia was accompanied by a vibrant corn salsa, tangy cotija cheese, creamy guacamole, and a sprinkle of fresh cilantro. It was a burst of flavors in every bite! 🌮🐟 To round off this culinary journey, I ordered their signature drink, the TOMPKINS COLLINS, and indulged in the tantalizing Jerk Chicken Nachos. These spicy delights featured crispy corn tortillas generously topped with succulent jerk chicken, black beans, zesty tomato salsa, fiery jalapenos, creamy nacho cheese, velvety guacamole, and a dollop of sour cream. Talk about a flavor explosion! 🌶️🧀🥑 Lastly, I savored the Shrimp Burrito, where succulent fried shrimp mingled with seasoned rice, black beans, vibrant corn salsa, crumbly queso fresco, and creamy guacamole. Each bite was a symphony of mouthwatering flavors. Pure perfection! 🍤🌯 The Taco Bar truly exceeded my expectations with their exceptional Mexican cuisine and vibrant atmosphere. Every dish was a work of art, crafted with passion and attention to detail. A visit to this gem of a restaurant is an absolute must for any food lover in Brooklyn! 🌮🌟 So, what are you waiting for? Grab your friends and head over to The Taco Bar for a culinary journey you won't soon forget. We wanted to be supportive of local businesses so we went to do the ayce drink a nd eat tacos. But unfortunately cannot in good conscience recommend this place. Overall it started decent and very normal. You are only allowed to order 2 tacos at a time and there are few specific drinks. This was all reasonable. You have a limited amount of time to eat and tacos took some time to come out, mind you it was not busy at all. The tacos were actually pretty good and very flavorful and we enjoyed the first few. The drinks were okay and made with cheapest tequila which is fine since it’s all you can drink. However things started to feel off and we noticed the tacos got saltier and each round. By the time we got to our 8th taco, it was unmistakable. Still we wanted to give benefit of the doubt and support a local black owned business. However that all went out the door at the end. I asked for an another drink and the guy said our time was up. I said that wasn’t possible and we should have another 15 minutes. He said he would go check for me. He left and then came back telling me “he got me”. When we paid for the bill we were not shown a receipt, only amount. After we paid we were able to pull the receipt from the app and we were able to see he charged me full price for the drink. This was extremely disappointing and unacceptable. He could have told me he checked and the time has passed, and if I still wanted it he would have to charge, instead he led me to believe it was covered. Deceptive and unacceptable service. There was barely anyone here on a Saturday night on a holiday weekend. The only table was what look like a setup for photos by some guy who probably is the owner who’s just posting photos and having friends vote this place up. I cannot in good consciousness recommend this place. It could have decent food but management is shady. They prioritize kicking everyone out and just looking like a cool place to visit. I feel a bit uncomfortable posting this but I wish was able to see an honest review before visiting. It’s likely they will respond being defensive and not acknowledging or try to address any of the issues as well. You have been warned, it’s a repeated behavior.
