Nice place to sit and relax with family and friends; Not much else you can do besides that. I guess you can go fishing in this green NYC water as I see people do, but I imagine it's more of a catch and release. They've also installed what seems to be a tiny lil bmx track, but don't expect to get much use out of it. It's probably best suited for kids. But in my opinion, the main attraction to this park is to just sit and be. Plenty of benches but there's next to no shade, but the grass is pretty clean and I prefer to sit here. And it's surprisingly quiet here considering it's surround by a highway and 4 train on 3 of 4 sides. Wait, that isn't it. Takes out headphones The surrounding area isn't so loud that it's intrusive. Probably about the same lvl of noise as if you turned your bathroom faucet on to half pressure, max to simulate the passing train.
Overall, I'd say it's a good park to relax in; a nice place to stay for 30 minutes or so after you get out of work. Just don't expect any more out of this place than that, a...
Read moreI love to go to Concreat Park because it's so easy to go to compared to my other two favorite parks (Starlight and Soundview Park); whenever I am on foot that is. I love to sit by the water or stand and just wacth as the water passes along; my favorite is when the sun is out and reflecting off of the water. I love zooming through the bike path and how fast my bike can go (if no one is walking along it of course). I love the gardens and all the pretty flowers but nothing beats my favorite sunflower gardens; ugghh I love them and have tons of pics of them. It's a great park to ride around, go on a date, hang with friends, or to simply relax and taking in nature. Last but not least, I think the structures that still remain from the concrete manufacturing company is so cool!!! Also, that name of the park is unique to said structures. Ohhh.... it's also cool to see the...
Read moreIt is an interesting place and a great little park where green space is desperately needed. For me it was my destination for a subway-based folding kayak trip. And then on the next one it was my launch point. I live in Hells Kitchen and took my small (10 foot) folding Folbot Citibot kayak on the subway first to Shoelace Park off 219th Street and then paddled south on the river, going through the Botanical Garden and then taking out and breaking down my boat here before heading home again on the subway. Next trip came here and assembled my boat, then paddled from Concrete Plant Park around to the Bronx Kill, catching it at just enough water to get through then up the Harlem to Inwood where I took out dis-assembled the boat and took the subway home (albeit dripping water most...
