Ok let me just preface this by saying that I researched a LOT of places in the area before deciding on Ortomare. It was my friend’s birthday and she wanted Italian. After painstakingly looking at photos and reviews I booked via Open Table and hoped for the best.

The service made the experience really special, they went above and beyond to make us feel comfortable and never made us feel rushed or pressured. We ordered margarita pizza for an appetizer, their freshly made pasta for entree, and we finished off the meal with chocolate cake and peppermint tea. The pizza was lovely and authentic Neapolitan style. My pasta (wild mushroom and spinach fettuccine) was fresh and delicious and my friend enjoyed her pasta which she asked customized and they graciously accommodated her.

I made a note with the reservation if they could put a candle in her dessert and at one point slipped away to confirm they could do so. They said “of course, we saw you made a note” which I really appreciated because I worked in restaurants long enough to know that notes aren’t always acknowledged.

Even the 30 degree (F) outdoor dining was bearable due to space heaters. All the little touches and warm energy made for a lovely experience. I would definitely return and recommend this place. I wish them continued success during these...

I was meeting up with my best friend after 2 years, we decided to eat italian food, and somehow we decided on this relatively new spot; one always wants to try the next dinner spot in the city! We went there clueless that Ortomare Ristorante will be our home feel-go to italian place. We were greeted by the host and soon by the friendly waiter, as our dinner progressed, the owner also came to wish us a pleasant” stay” yes we felt like staying! We ordered Sangovese wine from a great selection of italian wines. With the help of a waiter, we started our dinner with fresh Tomatoe and mazzarella appetizer, and than we ordered the best homemade Gnocchi pasta and a must try white italian pizza, to continue with what tasted like the freshiest I have had fish Bronzino, and to finish with the delicious homeade pana cotta and a real italian espresso. The staff were attentive, and friendly, but made sure not to disturb your dinner. Place was super clean and well maintained, and what a pleasure it was to be welcomed by the owner. Overall a great dining experience, definitely going back. Ortomare Ristorante Pizzeria and staff, thank you for serving amazing food, and making us feel home in the...

What took us so long to visit this restaurant! It is small with a lovely indoor seating area, but we opted to eat outside. The outside area is small, but on lovely nights it is nice to have the light breeze.

We ordered 2 pizzas (The Diavola and The Norcina) and they tasted so good. Wood burning fire place just makes the difference. The red pizza sauce has great flavour, and the pizza crust was great! Near the centre of the pizza it is a lot softer, but did not bother me at all.

The pasta bolognaise was also delicious. They do not skimp on the meat or flavour like other places. And the pasta was cooked ever so slightly above al dente. They also bring fresh parmesan and fresh pepper table side in case you want some.

We also had the panna cotta for dessert with a drizzle of caramel. A light dessert to end the meal.

My only suggestions would be (if I am being picky)

The bread, although fresh, you can tell it was sliced and sitting out a bit

The spices oil for the pizza was clogged so nothing really came out, and what did was very bland.

Definitely still worth the stars! A very enjoyable...

Ortomare surprised me, was totally expecting middle of the road Italian and it turned out to be quite good! Got the Manhattan Valley cocktail to get things started, was a bit on the sweet side but not too shabby. For appz, we got the burata and the calamari, both of which were good. For my main, I got the special white pizza with gorgonzola, pears, and walnuts. It was delicious! I was very happy with it. Had a glass of Nero d'Avola with it which was also quite good. For dessert, got the affogato, the ice cream and espresso were also delicious! Staff were super friendly and attentive throughout the meal. Would def return, wanna try their Spaghetti Carbonara.

We had a delightful family dinner at Ortomare. The service was exceptional, welcoming, and attentive, which was a big plus for us with kids. The food was top-notch - the Margherita pizza, made in the visible fire oven, was a hit. The spinach salad with olive oil, balsamic dressing, and goat cheese was a flavor explosion. The sage ravioli was a standout, with a noticeable taste of sage that was a real treat. We capped off the evening with the amazing chocolate lava cake and vanilla gelato. And we can't forget to mention their excellent selection of Italian wines. Definitely worth a try.
