Homemade Taqueria Columbus — Restaurant in New York

I rarely come on here to write reviews. But this time I can't help myself. I didn't sit at the restaurant, but my parents brought my sisters and I dinner from here and we were absolutely BLOWN AWAY. the Birria tacos are STUFFED with fresh, delicious seasoned meat. The tortillas are perfectly soft, the consomme is divine. We had to keep taking breaks between each taco. That's how generous this restaurant is with their portions. And Birria tacos for less than $20? Unheard of. But you'll find it here. My sister also got the spicy pork tacos and everything was seasoned to perfection. The Jamaica agua fresca was fresh, light, not to sweet/tangy and a perfect combination to go with our meal. The strawberry Jarritos was really good too. We are just truly in awe at how good the food is here. There is real love going into this food.

We have a favorite place in Tarrytown for Birria tacos but it's a 40 minute drive. Now we don't have to go so far. Please visit this restaurant and give their food a try, you won't regret it. It's so difficult to find genuinely good food on the upper west side. What a gem. Will...

Came back after a ling while and remembered enjoying this place. The restaurant was full with indoor seating on a Tuesday evening 6:30 pm. Ordering take out took a bit longer than expected ~4 minutes just standing and waiting. Eventually I ordered green chilaquiles with steak, 3 shrimp tacos and one $1.75 adobada pork taco which is their taco Tuesday deal.

The pork taco is great, smaller than the regular tacos and way better than the shrimp tacos. The shrimp lacked flavor and the taco overall tasted bland and lacked seasoning. The pork was very clearly well marinated and tasted delicious.

Chilaquiles were good, not great.

The sauces were also good.

Highly recommend that pork taco and the horchata (the best I’ve had) out of everything.

I went to this little sit down restaurant earlier today (08/09/2022). The waitress took my order: 3 Birria Tacos with Consomé (a combo order). Spices were amazing, as well as the environment (quiet and relaxing). I also ordered a chicken empanada (it was alright, maybe I should try the beef one next time). The birria tacos were made fresh and to absolute perfection. Total for the tacos combo and the empanada was $19.54 (under $20 is amazing, ended up giving $22). I should have ordered an Aguas Frescas, since it was hot and humid today, but did not since I had my water bottle with me.
