I ordered from this place for the first time this evening 1/12/18. I called ahead and picked up my order on my way home. It was busy when I got to the restaurant but, I got my order and the guy at the counter was pretty ok. I actually wanted to make an additional order but didn't want to wait in the shop so, I called in for delivery when I got in (I live literally the next block over). My order didn't even reach delivery minimum but I told the guy to make the order for it anyway because, I didn't want to come back out.
About 15-20mins later, the delivery guy calls (as he making his way I guess) and I proceed to make my way down to the lobby. I take the steps (4 floors) because, there's maintenance work being done the elevator. I get another call (about 3mins later) from the delivery guy as I'm going down the stairs and when I pick up, he's yelling saying something I didn't understand. It was hard to make out because of his accent but he was definitely yelling. I even asked "are you yelling at me?" just to be sure. Then I told him I'm coming down the stairs and he yelled something about him calling already. When I get to the front entry, I told him that the elevator was out and I had to use the steps and it had also only been a few mins since he initially called. He continued to yell trying to talk over me asking me to pay. Now here's where it gets ridiculous... I have the cash in hand and say "here you go" and proceed to take the food and he pulls the bag from me again saying "you pay". I'm looking at him like he's nuts and I say "here is the money!" as I am handing it to him but he is not taking it it still yelling "no, you no pay, you pay". I'm over it by now so I tell him I'm calling the restaurant. Then he says "you no want food?" as I'm dialing the restaurant. The phone line becomes conveniently busy so I don't get through but, the delivery guy jumps on his bike and rides off. I get through after about 4mins and explain to the first guy at the counter what had just happened and his reaction was "okay"🤷🏻♂️ (As if this is a regular occurrence). He only offered a half apology of a monotone "sorry about that" after I told him I never ordered from there before today and how unbelievably horrible the service was. The food and ice tea I ordered was good (hence the 2 stars; one for each) but, this is certainly the first and the absolute last time I order Chinese food from Yangs Happy Wok on Avenue C between 10th and 11th streets. Read moreThere’s certain things that you just can’t make up it’s OK to ask for extra barbecue sauce on your spare ribs but when the food gets to you and it’s all oil that’s leaking out because the last time I checked barbecue sauce is thick it’s not water down where it’s leaking all over the side of the bag and the whole plate is full of liquids loose liquids like it’s just oil I need to do better these fast foods are just getting worse and worse and worse and every time I regret that I had to spend my money .

He always wants to charge extra for everything, He recognizes loyal customers and yet he never demonstrates loyalty to the loyal customers. Their food isn’t all that spectacular that anyone one be loyal in return. And that’s why I am reminded why I order from other trusted Chinese fast food restaurants.
