Back in New York but this time in the East Village in a funky walk up hotel called interestingly enough, The East Village Hotel. Fabulous location to places to eat, bars, transport and even a 24 hour market downstairs that has most hints you’ll need during your stay. It’s also quiet which I’m grateful for. Great additions that we didn’t have in 2022 accommodation - iron, hairdryer, stovetop, kettle, usual kitchen utensils, plenty of bathroom toiletries, hanging space for clothes and cookies as a welcome gift. Opened the bedside table and found condoms 😅 which is a new “added bonus” for guests. Note that there is no lobby or reception desk. It’s all completed remotely and worked efficiently. Recommend but does need a refresh soon. #eastvillagehotel #eastvillagenewyork #eastvillagenewyorkcity #thewanderingreviewer #newyorkhotels #newyorkhotel #eastvillagehotelnewyork

Right so, long story short, this is kind of a scam. The room itself was a miniature. We did not have hot water for the first half day, which eventually was fixed. I have to admit that on this, the hotel responded pretty quickly. The solution, however, was to wait until the next day since they didn't have anyone on site to look at it. The linen were yellowish, and at the same time, the hotel was threatening to hold the full deposit if we messed the towels. Finally, they did not even offer a bottle of water, and they clearly mentioned that the bottles in the fridge will be charged. Finally, the outside noise was unbearable, even with the earplugs provided by the hotel. Other information: No front desk Cleaners are discrete and good

Great view from the 4th floor! We loved this place because of the location literally right in east village, walking distance from Astor place, or Bleecker, soho, or noho! This was the best nyc trip I’ve had to far the spot is too convenient!!!! I would totally stay again, it’s so dingey in some spot but the window wasn’t broken heat and ac worked well. Bed was amazing. Very clean bathroom. Fridge microwave SINK PLATES FORKS !! It places comes with everything, and ppl normally stay there for a long time clearly but we stayed for one night. It was perfect! So much food around!

We had a good time staying at the East Village Hotel. ||We had some issues checking in. As it is a staffless hotel without a reception desk, you should receive an email on how to check in in order to get the codes for the front door and your room, but I never received that mail. Made a call and they were very helpful and understanding. So that was sorted out quickly.||As for the room: it was simple and clean. but not very cheap (but then again, what is these days in New York City?). There’s a TV, and free WiFi, a small bathroom, and some space (bed drawers and a coat rack) to store clothes. The bed was comfortable (and was made every day) and the kitchenette was nice too.||Location wise, I think the East Village is great. Not the busiest part of the city (but if traffic still bothers you, there are complimentary ear plugs available). Bus stop is in front of the door, and the nearest subway station is only a 5 minute walk away,||The dishwasher in the kitchenette seemed a bit overkill for 4 plates 2 pans and 2 pair of utensils (could easily wash those by hand). Would have preferred a coffee maker and water heater for tea instead. Also, a second chair at the desk would have been nice (since there is a kitchenette to make breakfast/dinner you also need a place to sit and eat it right? 😜) But other than that, all was good for us. We have no regrets...

We chose this hotel for the kitchenette and neighborhood vibe. Our stay was Thursday to Monday. All of our interactions with staff were friendly. We stored our luggage the day of check in at the Chelsea Pines location. We received the entry codes via email at 3:00 pm. Our room was sufficient. A few annoying call outs...1. We should have had bar stools to sit at the small counter to eat. Requested, but never received.  This meant stand to eat or sit on the bed. Now, sitting on the bed to eat comes with the risk of spills and a $50 charge if you leave a stain. 2. It looked like there should have been a shelf in the shower, but there wasn't.  This meant all shower toiletries had to sit on the floor of the small shower. 3. Asked housekeeping for band-aids. We were told they would be brought IF they had any...never got'em. This is one of the many reasons that The Sweet Village Market underneath the rooms is so convenient! Super nice employees. Open 24 hours! Tasty veggie burger & fries! The market really made our stay better! :) If we choose to stay a EVH again I would ask for a room with stools and a shower shelf. ;) One last thing...EVH charges you for your first night stay approximately 4 days prior to check-in, then charges the remaining portion of your stay 2 days prior to check-in. This is not a practice we have ever experienced with...
