La La Laundry & plants — Local services in New York

The laundry room recently closed for maintenance in my apartment building and my clothes have been piling up as you can imagine. I've been struggling with finding an outside laundry facility to go to in fear that it would be a not so great experience.

Let me tell you... La La Laundry is where you want to be!! As soon as I entered the door with my laundry duffle and laundry hamper overflowing I was greeted with a smile and a hand wave and I did not feel any shame about having so many clothes to wash.

I did not have any trouble at all locating available washers and dryers and there are more than enough machines for everyone. Operating the machines was a straight forward process. The washers range in many different sizes and you can wash your clothes on any temperature you prefer.

You have to purchase a laundry card to wash your clothes. One of the employees was very helpful in showing me how to locate the card machine and upload funds. You can use your debit card to purchase a laundry card or cash. They sell laundry duffle bags if you need one, or forgot yours at home.

Employees are constantly cleaning out the machines so they are disinfectant and ready to use and the up keep of the laundry mac is on another level. It's a very clean and friendly environment and they are ready to meet your needs.

They offer a wide variety of services with some being alterations, dry cleaning, washing and folding your laundry for you and you also have the option to do your own laundry. They have music playing throughout, they sell a variety of plants if your thinking about being a plant parent for the first time or adding to your collection, and it's great lighting inside for a laundry selfie.

The ceiling is painted blue and white and it looks like clouds. It's such a warm and comforting vibe and the great customer service truly put my mind at ease. My only con is that my phone started dying halfway through while doing laundry and I was unable to locate an outlet to charge my phone. Other than that it's a 10/10 recommend. I think I found my new laundry mac and I hope I helped you find...

Mediocre, at best. Don’t bring anything here for wash and fold that needs any special care. We paid a lot extra for the “well healed” service where they are supposed to wash each type of item according to the care instructions on the tag… they definitely did not do that, at all. About 75% of the items that we took in came back either shrunk/shrunk with soap residue, or completely devoid of its original integrity. I would really only trust this place with towels, sheets, etc that you don’t mind if they potentially mess up the item. It was far more expensive than some of the better laundry places in the neighborhood

In response to the owner's response: There is nothing "miraculous" about clothes shrinking... it happens when you don't dry them at the proper temperature. I am not sure what you plan to do to fix the clothes, because you can't really unshrink them. I am also not sure what you mean by "daily wear and tear clothing items"? We don't live in NYC, we were just there visiting, so we won't be coming back to your business, we just want to make sure that others know not to trust your "well healed" service as a specialty service that takes into consideration the specific care instructions...

They have on multiple occasions ruined my sheets with machines that have residue bleach in them. Leaving bleach marks across all my coloured towels and bedding. I have had to throw away two towels. And all of my bedding is marked from the bleach - it looks like gross stains. I have asked multiple times for them to be careful and I keep getting items ruined. Will not be going here again - do not go here if you have sensitive skin. They do not clean their machines properly from when it’s being used with bleach. Utterly disappointed. UPDATED w/REPLY no this was not just one time. This was multiple multiple times. As you didn’t get back to my email I have attached the items you have ruined. Plus a hand towel that was so so so bad I had to throw it away. You have ruined multiple items on multiple occasions. I kept asking your staff to help. As you can see in the photos there are bleach/ detergent marks all...
