Bear Bitez is located on Central street in Newark in the same shopping center where Bob's Burgers (RIP) for you true South Alameda county OG's. Only a couple tables inside.

Seems to be a two person operation. Tried the Beef and Chicken options with pink salt chips and I must say they were both quite delicious. My better half and I both agree that we like the chicken version more. Chicken is a bit more flavorful to us although the beef is tasty as well.

Owners as other's have mentioned were very very nice and that alone would make me return.

The location is a drive off the freeway but I hope they are successful and expand/open another location that is more convenient for me soon.

Edit: Returned and have sent several friends and fam here. Only suggestion to owners would be to add some seating outside possibly ???

If you like my reviews, consider "following" my profile for reviews all across the SF Bay Area . Why "follow" someone? It causes the person you follow's reviews to tier to top when you pull up a business. I find this very handy when researching venues.

Rod's Review grading scale explained. Essentially I personally base it on the likelihood of a return visit and I try to be stingy with 5 star reviews since they should be "special" in my eyes. Price/Value also play a role obviously but there are $ and $$$$ littered across my grading scale.

So finally tried this place, and kicking myself for not going earlier. Great service, great food and great local spot! So let's start with most important part...FOOD! My lady and I both got the beef. THEY DO NOT SELL OUT! Unlike other reviews we asked the owner, she says it's the wait, if they just get into oven can take 20+ minutes. So they aren't out for the day, just until new batch is ready. Our burger was delicious and that crust of the bread was delicious. Down side, you can't customize. For me that's not a problem, I like it how it is. For others, just try it, really, even my lady is picky and she liked it, so just try it. We got 1 of each style chip to try them all. I loved the hot, but thyme and salt were good too. The soda is made in Alameda so its local and it's delicious. We also got a chocolate and white chocolate chip cookies. They are made fresh daily and they are so soft and delicious.

Service, owner (believe she is since pix are on the wall) was very nice. She helped us order, made sure we were ok with the wait of the beef (10-15 mins) and then followed up to be sure we liked everything. Very nice, very professional, great service.

Cons: 3 tables and a bar style seating. So not much room, but that's ok, either squeeze in or take it to go! Worth it.

This is a very unique and tasty take on burgers. My wife and I ended up here from Yelp because it was 4pm, we hadnt had lunch and a burger sounded amazing. Once we got there we found out you have three options. Double beef patty, chicken or vegetarian. These burgers are baked in kind of like an apple turnover but theres a burger inside instead of apple and man oh man is it goodm. Its brilliant.

They grind their own burger from grass fed high end beef. Everything is very high end. The fountain drinks are "hand crafted" sodas with cane sugar. I had the cola which was phenomenal.

We neglected to get the combo with chips as we really dont eat chips much. The owner gave us a basket because he wanted us to try them. They were amazing. We brought them with us and finished them in the car. They cut thr potatoes and bake them on site. The salt they use is Himalayan pink salt. All ingrediants for everything are very high end. I just cant say enough about how good this place is and how much care is put into the food.

I took a burger to go and it was the freshest next day burger I've had. Because it is encased it stays really well as oxygen is not getting to the burger, tomatoes etc. This place is awsome. I wish it was closer...
