Came here Sunday evening all the way from Bayonne to bring my family because I stumbled across this place last year and I enjoy the almond crunch ice cream (it’s great). My family likes the selection of flavors/cheesecake. But the girls that were there Sunday evening were RUDE & lack serious professionalism and customer service skills! They were extremely unwelcoming from the time we approached the door with nasty faces and rolling their eyes, only 1 young lady there greeted us and even tried to be helpful. I asked her name (apologies if I misspell it) Aleene I believe she was welcoming, helpful and accommodating while allowing my little girl to try samples. Those girls need a serious talking to because had I not drove as far as I did with my family I would have left and not purchased anything. 1 girl (dark hair, tan possibly Hispanic) attitude was atrocious! She rolled her eyes at us the entire time and was blatantly rude to my aunt when she asked a question about an item to purchase. But that was my last time patronizing this business because the girls were unwelcoming at our last visit also! (not rude at that time just not inviting demeanor into the store) no one deserves to be treated that way, but especially not a customer. Have them do...
Read moreThe ice cream here is amazing, have been coming here for years but only now since I have kids do I see things a little different. I went there today with my 2 year old, my husband and a friend, we got ice cream for everyone and sat outside. A few minutes later my toddler (which is being potty trained) wanted to use the restroom, so we quickly went in to ask the girl if we could use the restroom and she said no one is allowed to use their restroom. Umm really? I’m a paying customer and now I have to find another place for my 2 year old to use the restroom before he pees in his pants, and I’m not even from Newark!! Like where am I supposed to go? So we quickly left to find someplace to take my son, but I was very disappointed.
As a business owner myself I know the importance of treating your customers like human beings and not like dollar signs. I did not like how I was treated, so I will not be returning to Nastos anytime soon. I don’t consider this place family friendly. The impression that I got was that they could care less about you, that they just want your money. So next time I will be going elsewhere. Their ice cream tastes great (that’s why I gave another star) but there’s lots of other...
Read moreIt's not the food, don't get me wrong. They have good icecream. The food is great! I had a bad experience for the first time with their customer service. I ordered from uber, I wrote what flavor I wanted. Called the store they said they called me and left a voice mail, but I was at work and ordered this to be delivered at home. My mom called me ay work and she said flavor was wrong.
I called the store then and explained. They didn't offer any assistance instead the one I spoke over the phone said they can't take the ice cream back as it has left the store (which I appreciate for safety) I asked if there's anything they can do, nothing. I asked so I have to order again, pay the delivery person, pay the amount for the gallon ice cream. That's it. It's not much $10 + $3 tip but the service was unexpected from a renowned store in Newark like Nastos. I always order to them but maybe would never want to call them as the person over the phone doesn't offer you any help but to buy again from their store and redo my order since their policy is if there's no flavor, they send vanilla. Maybe as a customer I should have checked their policy first...
