12/5/2010: Walking down Main St. in Newark, looking for a place to have a nice Sunday morning breakfast. Came across Sinclair's which proudly displayed a sign that it was rated as the best breakfast by Delaware Today magazine. My wife and I decided to stop in and try it out. It was crowded and noisy and very poorly lit - especially for a morning breakfast place. We were not greeted at all upon arrival. The "host", after we seated ourselves, arrived with food on her shirt, unkempt hair, and she was wearing shorts (this was December?) and tennis shoes. Our waitress brought us menus and asked us what we would like to drink. The menus had food stuck all over them. We were brought our drinks and the Latte was disgusting and extremely bitter tasting. We asked for a replacement with a standard coffee which was also not very good at all. The waitress later closed a dirty curtain near to our table, spreading a nice layer of dust across our food and drinks. It was then that I noticed that all of the window decor and fake plants were coated in a thick layer of dust also. We ordered two different poached egg dishes with home fries and english muffins - the "Kennett" and the "California" - Mushrooms/Monterrey Jack and Broccoli/Swiss respectively. When the food arrived, the eggs/cheese/bread were lukewarm and the potatoes were just plain cold. The plates were small and the quantity of food was not very large - especially for the price. The total for the meal was $26.25 and this was for two breakfast entrees and two orange juices and one coffee. McDonald's would have been cleaner, closer, tastier, much less expensive, and the service would have been the same - because we received none worth mentioning at Sinclair's either. I am most disappointed in Delaware Today magazine for misleading the public with their review and rating of this restaurant. I will probably be...
Read moreThought we would give them a second chance. The first time years ago was blah. The second time (today) was worse. The food is ok. The service is bad. They do not prioritize who comes in and gets served first. We came in and were served after 3 other parties who came in after us. Our food arrived late and those parties who came in after us had eaten and had their check before we even started to eat. I had to put more time on the meter because it took 1.5 hours in total to get breakfast and eat. The parking lot out back was full so you could not park for free. I was sitting without coffee for a good 20 minutes and when they brought out our food, they sent it to the wrong table. Overall a very bad experience. I won't be coming back as this was the second chance I hoped would be better...
Read moreI came in here on a whim, the server was very professonail, I got my food preety quick, I just didt like it because I am accostomed to an omlet having the ingridients mixed in not stuffed inside like a burito. I didnt like the presentation. They asked if I wanted soemthing else, I was ruahing so I said nah Ill just pay for the drink and the lady was like dont worry about it. They get 5 stars first because of their professonalism, 2nd because I can be a finicky eater (the food wasnt necessarilly bad, never tasted it I just didnt like how it was fixed)mood dependent, 3rd everyone else in the reastaraunt who was leaving or eating seemed to enjoy their meal and their even seemed to be a couple regulars. You dont get regulars...
