Jem 100 Ice Cream Saloon — Restaurant in Newberg

Today is September 17, 2025. I get suspicious when I see so many one star reviews, since my last 5-star one around one year ago on the bottom of this one.

We have been here many times since I wrote my first review on this place. Today, we received our same great service, tasty food, and served with a smile.

There are new bright red and white booths, Gabby and Brooklyn were top-notch customer servants doing serving and cooking. These two young folks were managing the whole place, and it was fairly filled.

I have been a server, and I know how difficult the job can be, but these two were really keeping up with everything, and having a smile for the customers. They worked really well together.

Ice cream, burgers, and fries were excellent. Gabby completed one order before she started on another as able. Brooklyn was keeping up with orders.

I sure hope someone else speaks up at the great quality of the food, and service.

One year ago: This is such a wonderful place! The number one thing that my husband and I noticed was how well the staff work together. They all work together like a finely tuned machine! Customer service is definitely number one here. Their burgers and onion rings are unbelievably good. Judging by business there, many others enjoy the food. The place is clean, and even has a jukebox. After talking with folks, I realize there are a lot of return customers! Of special mention, is the young man who was delivering a lot of the meals to the tables. Also, the young lady who went around to the tables and asked if they wanted refills of water or soda. I cannot forget those cooking. Those are some beautiful burgers and onion rings! Even the junior size is a great and filling burger. Ice cream sundae primo, aong with my kid scoop:) After that wonderful meal, one does not need to indulge in a large dish (my opinion:) I really noticed that the quality of the customer eating at this great place is a step above in customer base. Not the status level, just the overall kindness that people display. Thank you folks for a great Sunday...

Been here lots of times for ice cream on my way home from the beach but stopped here a week ago and ordered food. It was the worst service ever. First of all we all received our orders except my 9 year old son and our fries. They said they were on there way. We waited 15 minutes and my son's food still wasn't there. I went to ask and they totally forgot it. Not only did our server forget but so did the cooks. They said they would make it and I asked for our orders also to be re made so they would be hot (they Sat untouched because we're not eating in front of our child while he has nothing). It took them another 20 minutes and when we did get our orders they did the exact same thing. Brought our food and my son had to wait a few more minutes. The food was not good. Our buns we're broken in half, one was toasted and one wasn't. Very unhappy. Of course we'll go back for our favorite licorice ice cream. I hope that the employed will be...

All together, in many, many years, I've been here 3 times and I thought I left a review years ago but it probably got deleted. Well still to this day I can say this place rocks! The toffee crunch, some carmel one and lemon bar ice cream is fantastico!!! The burgers are expensive but it's homemade food which you can tell from your first look and bite. It takes them about 20 mins to prepare and serve your food, as I had came in today and it took almost 30 mins. We'll I got what I did a few days ago and instead I got a double which was 2 dollars more than the original but it was so so good and so fresh. It's the blue cheese bacon burger for 9.20 I think on the specials board. You need to try it. We'll I met an absolutely lovely young girls a few days ago and had a talk with her while waiting and she was so sweet. I love the older generation that visits here too. Thank you for great food...
