Old Town Bar & Grill — Restaurant in Newberg

After reading some reviews I was looking forward to coming here. When we arrived, we were not greeted by the two bartenders. I was looking for a place to sit they did not give any directions. My date and I sat for at least 10 minutes ( gracious estimate) before anyone came to the table. The bartender asked if we wanted anything to drink and handed our menus to us. He did not suggest any of the craft brews or craft drinks and seemed disgruntled he had to wait tables. He left and returned with my dates drink and asked if we were ready to order. I ordered fettuccine Alfredo with shrimp. I watched as a group of at least 20 people walked in and was not greeted by the same two bartenders who had been at the bar. It was obvious to me that the people were looking for direction where to sit after about 10 minutes. The group walked out front at no time did any staff try and help them they eventually left . Our food was delivered by another male staff. There was no silverware with our meal. He didn’t even say anything to us after about five minutes of my food getting cold, I had to ask one of the bartenders for silverware. When I got my fettuccine Alfredo, which I have ordered at other restaurants, I noticed it did not have a creamy white sauce. The sauce with this fettuccine was very oily only cheese on. It was the grated Parmesan. There was plenty of shrimp however they were not cooked. A couple of shrimp were actually still cold when I bit into them. While we ate our meal, not one server came to check on us. One server did come by and placed a bottle of water down but said nothing to us.

I was not impressed. I know businesses have an off night, this really threw me off with all the five star reviews. I don’t know if people were just being nice or actually had a better experience. I know if I was a manager or own the restaurant and a table of 20 came in and I lost their business I would be upset. Maybe it is par for course for...

The food is good and the atmosphere is cute. As for the service I was very disappointed. My friends and I had ask for 3 of same drinks with our food but were given the wrong ones. We weren't mad about the drinks being wrong and didn't even acknowledge the mistake. When asked for ONE of the drinks we originally ordered while reassuring her that the drinks that we got were good and we happy with them. She proceeded to say "i'm not putting another drink on the table. it's basically the same thing (we ordered a huckleberry Mule and we're given a lemon drop. that's definitely not the same thing) she then proceeded to offer us a ginger beer to top it off. I said no it's okay. she didn't even apologize for the mixup. As the night went on she didn't come to the table to check in on us or offer us water. And the one time she came back to the table she ask if we wanted another round i kindly said "na we're chilling for now" she then laughed at me and said "you were so confident." I've been to this place before and I would have never expected that kind of service. So I never leave reviews. Ever. I think this is my first one. Me and my wife door dashed this place one time and both felt sick after eating the food. We figured it was a one off and due to the delay getting the food from door dash. Went again and the experience was not great. Got seated around 7:10pm. Ordered and the steamed clams as an appetizer and a few drinks which took 20ish minutes to get for the drinks and 30-40min to get the appetizer. The waitress actually had to come back 15min after our order to ask again which drinks we wanted. We placed our food order around 7:30. Our food took over an hour to get to us. What made me more mad was that there was another couple who arrived about 30min after us who received their food first. And to top it off my wife and I are both not feeling well again after eating there. I may be back for a drink, but I will never eat here again. I will absolutely say the waitress was nice and apologetic for the food...
