Updated review
I wanted to provide an update on my recent experience on June 10, 2023. A few days ago, Diana, one of the managers, called me, but unfortunately, I missed the call. She left a voicemail expressing her concern about my initial review and, in an effort to make things right, kindly emailed me a gift card for my next visit. We decided to use the gift card for a party of six, and I must say, this experience was a complete turnaround.
Our host for the day was Chuck, who was extremely personable, patient, and kind, especially with the two kids who were part of our group. Chuck went above and beyond to ensure everyone had a great time. We were given the full 75 minutes, which were utilized for multiple games, and we enjoyed every single moment. In fact, Chuck even gave us an extra 5 minutes at the end for a speedy tiebreaker round since both teams were tied.
Another meaningful aspect of our experience was Chuck’s flexibility in allowing us to select the game mode that suited our preferences. Not only that, but he also offered valuable tips to enhance our axe-throwing skills. After wrapping up our time in the axe-throwing area, we decided to play a few arcade games. We noticed the staff members cleaning up, and out of respect, we decided to conclude our gaming session. However, it was worth mentioning that the staff didn't rush us and were very accommodating throughout our visit.
While our previous visit wasn't terrible aside from one issue, this time around, Chuck truly made the trip worthwhile. His excellent hosting skills, attention to detail, and genuine commitment to ensuring a remarkable experience left a lasting impression. We left the venue feeling satisfied and appreciative. ————————————————————————— Initial review
I want to start by mentioning that the staff were friendly and the atmosphere was unique. It was my first time trying axe throwing, and I ended up enjoying it more than I expected. However, there was one downside. We had booked a time slot for 1:45 pm and arrived at 1:30 pm to complete our waivers. At 1:40 pm, we were informed that the other half of the party who were not associated with us would be late, and we needed to wait for them to start the session. Even though the other party was absent, the instructor began the safety briefing at 1:55 pm, and the 75-minute timer started at 1:50 pm. We couldn't play the actual game until the other party arrived, which was at 2:00 pm. As a result, the instructor had to repeat the safety and practice aspects of the game, which took another 10-15 minutes of our time. We only had 40-45 minutes left for the actual activity, wasting around 30-35 minutes from the 75 minutes we paid for. Despite this, the staff, environment, and activity were excellent, but please keep in mind that if another party is late under the same time slot, your time will...
Read moreI went for a small casual bachelor party on a Saturday late afternoon with three other guys, two deaf/hard of hearing. We had two guys to each target. The “Axpert” aka range officer, was very friendly, encouraging, kept scores/updates, and helped when needed with great advice. The games were fun and varied and I was nailing targets left and right by the end of the night. Beer can/bottle selection was surprisingly varied and decently priced too. Atmosphere was upscale log cabin with all the fur, plaid, and stuffed animal accents you would expect in Gaston’s house from beauty and the beast. Half way through our set a big party of ladies stopped in for a new mom party and it was good to see this manly sport be appreciated by lots of ladies too. Id say it’s something you will need to do with at least 4 people to keep it lively and competitive with a high enough turnaround of throwers to keep you engaged. Only reason it’s not 5 Star is I had an issue with payments and since there is no receipts I was very wary about possibly paying double. Also, with the no receipts, its kinda “cash only” tips, bartender and Axpert included. Still highly...
Read moreDefinitely my favorite axe throwing venue and I say that after going to 11 venues across 6 states up and down the east coast. It's changed a bit since my first visit, the first place I've seen to switch to projecting targets onto the boards instead of paint or markers. This through a whole new dynamic into the game as your targets can move between your first and second throw. It also allows for a ton of different game options and target pictures... The games are guided and tend to be grouped so you may not get the privacy you would expect if you're say, I on a date and want to move at your own pace.. ask the front desk when you're booking about group size on your reservation if you want a private session (just your group). It would be nice to see cornhole out on the floor but they have made nice use of the space. There are a few floor games as well including pool and darts. They have a great wood fired pizza oven and authentic style pizzas. Friendly and attentive staff and a good drink selection behind the bar. Again I've seen these operations from the Carolinas all the way up to Maine and this is definitely the...
