So this is the place to go if you love delicious Mexican food! I have been eating at Avila's for over 25 years and I have never had a bad meal once the food is delicious! You can sit in the bar and eat and watch whatever game is on you can sit indoors or outdoors and the waiting staff for staff they are just on top of things and you can almost always count on seeing one of the owners / managers working on the floor which I like because I think that managers should be working managers which is why and what makes a good restaurant run good because they're all part of the same team. One thing I really loved? I was shocked and surprised when I ordered an American breakfast and I'll tell you it really impressed me by how perfect my breakfast was my bacon was crisp my eggs were cooked to Perfection and as you know that's the main thing when you're having breakfast that includes eggs there's nothing worse than having your eggs come to the table and not cooked the way you want and then they have to send it back that didn't happen here I have never had a bad breakfast here and by far it's one of the best places to go to have an American breakfast highly highly highly recommended go hungry and you will...
Read moreI recently visited Avila's Friday night with high hopes, but unfortunately, my experience was incredibly disappointing. As soon as I walked through the door with my service animal, I was met with judgmental stares, which was disheartening. To make matters worse, the manager approached us and asked, "It's not going to be barking or anything, is it?" I found this comment not only inappropriate but deeply offensive. Right from the start, the vibe felt off, and I knew we were not welcome.
We decided to sit down, hoping things would improve, but the disappointment continued. My cousin ordered a margarita, and it tasted like pure margarita mix with just ice--Given the poor service and the subpar drink, we quickly made the decision to leave before even trying the food.
It's clear that this establishment needs proper training for their staff regarding service animals and customer service in general. The lack of understanding and respect was evident throughout our experience. I would not recommend this place to anyone looking for a welcoming atmosphere or quality service. Save your time and choose a place that values...
Read moreI really do not like to post negative reviews , but in the spirit of trying to help a restaurant chain I really like I have to be until tonight. The Avila El Ranchito brand is one I really have liked for many years. From Main street Huntington Beach to Costa Mesa and several others I have loved the margaritas and really excellent food for years. And equally important I have respected the cleanliness of the restaurants and the restrooms. The Newport Blvd location I had dinner tonight on the peninsula was truly disappointing with the lack of cleanliness and the very average all around experience. My waitress was sincere and very good in every aspect. She was the one thing that excelled. But the very impersonal bartenders and just average food was a huge disappointment to the brand. The bathroom was grim at best too with leaky urinals and dirty sinks. Floors were filthy. I will support the family and corporate brand because I believe this can be fixed. But this location is in need of a...
