Bruegger's Bagels — Restaurant in Newport Beach

I enjoyed visiting Brueggers while here on a trip. We came every morning as a family. Today, 9/5/17 at 7:35 in the morning I came in one last time and accidentally left my iphone on the counter. I came back minutes later frantic stating that I left it. They acknowledged that I did, and then calmly stated that a customer took my phone with him. They said that they asked him to give it to them, but he said no so they let him walk out with it. THEY ALLOWED HIM TO STEAL MY PHONE. They would not give me a description of what the man looked like. When i asked the lead person why they let him take it, The lead said , "What do you want me to do, go him fight for it"?" I said they could have reminded him that he was stealing and that they will call the police if he took it? They knew he was taking a phone that did not belong to him but did not bother to do anything to prevent it. There was a crime committed in the store and they allowed it to happen

I asked to speak to their manager, a man named Rudolofo. I explained that his people were not supporting me by giving me a description of the person who took the phone. He said that they are busy selling bagels and cannot. I asked why they didn't alert him that a crime was occurring. He shrugged his shoulders and smiled at me and said they were too busy helping customers. There was little to no one in line when I went in the first time and the second time. They were not too busy to help me.

I finally called Paul, the owner, and he said he was sorry he didn't know why they behaved that way.

Food Rating: I got the smoked salmon on an everything bagel I have been craving a lox bagel and I saw this place recommended so I thought I would try it and it did not disappoint. it was really good the only negative thing was that it was a lil too salty for my taste which was probably because I got it on an everything bagel next time I’ll try it on a plain bagel. But overall it was a really good bagel

Service Rating: The employees were very nice and friendly they welcomed me with a nice warm greeting and smile which brightened my day. They also worked very fast but even though it was fast the quality was amazing. I got my order in about 5 minutes after ordering it

Atmosphere Rating: The atmosphere was very cozy and friendly the lighting wasn’t too bright but not too dim and it really fit the aesthetic

Overall Rating: Overall I’ll give it 5/5 stars it did not disappoint it was a great breakfast I highly recommend trying this...

I was disappointed with the lack of flavor in the breakfast sandwiches. We got the Sriracha Honey Sunrise and the Skinny Bacon Avocado & Tomato Egg White, and the hash brown cup. They look delicious, freshly made, and made quickly, but they lacked any of the strong flavors that I was expecting, particularly for the Sriracha Honey sandwich - it wasn’t spicy at all and the sweet undertones were so subtle that they were missed.

The Skinny sandwich was better, and I’d recommend that over the honey sriracha, but only because the tomato spread gives the sandwich some flavor complexity, adding a sweet smokiness to it. For the hash brown, I could take it or leave it. I was excited for the flavors included (chives, cream cheese, cheddar, etc.), but it left me unimpressed.
