Mag's Donuts — Restaurant in Newport Beach

My brother had a craving for Boston Creme donuts. In his search for donuts, he came across Mag's Donuts and Bakery. He figured he'd give it a whirl and ordered a dozen for delivery, and I'm so glad he did because Mag's bavarian cream filled donuts definitely hit the spot.

The dough alone speaks for itself. The dough was noticeably soft, fresh, and everything you'd expect from a good donut. I was worried the dough may be dry or wouldn't taste fresh and like the donuts had been sitting out for a while, which I feel is sadly the case for most donut shops, but I'm happy to say that was not the case at all with Mag's Donuts. The dough was perfectly soft and SO good and made the whole experience better.

The Bavarian cream filling was the cherry on top of these donuts. They had the perfect amount of cream filling. Not too much, not too little, which I appreciate because most donut shops are stingy with their custard filling. Not Mag's Donuts. They give you the perfect amount, so you get some in almost every bite.

Overall, I would give these donuts easily 5 out of 5 stars and hope to try more donuts from Mag's donuts because they are...

I absolutely love this place. They absolutely by far have some if the best donuts I've ever had. They also have fantastic smoothies and plenty of breakfast items for everyone!

They do special orders and even do donuts in letter shapes for parties. Definitely give them a coupe days to place big orders and special items since it's a small place.

I go there regularly when I'm in town. They remember their customers and will absolutely be super cool with their regulars.

Be cautious when ordering food here. I used to be a regular customer, but I’ve consistently had issues after eating certain items like their breakfast burritos and sandwiches. Unfortunately, these meals often left me feeling extremely unwell. After giving them multiple chances, I’ve decided I can no longer continue eating here. I can’t speak to what’s going on behind the scenes, but something doesn’t seem right.
