Stopped by Sgt Pepperoni’s Pizza Store for lunch and fulfilled my pizza cravings in a fun and playful atmosphere! This small pizza place was hopping during lunch and I can see why! Their pizza is fresh and delicious and they provide such a fun place to spend some time. They have tvs all around the room as well as a game room so you can play to your hearts content. Their Beatles artwork and music is right up my alley as well!

They are well staffed so you get quick and efficient service. They are all friendly and greet everybody be with a smile! Upon asking suggestions I was told straight away their best sellers and specials. Love when the staff knows the menu and business so well!

98% of everything they use is made from scratch. Their pizza dough is fresh, their sauce is house made as are their desserts and even their cheese is hand grated daily! We ordered two slices of pizza, garlic knots and a slice of pumpkin pie. We got the monthly special potato which had great flavors and texture and the meatball and ricotta, their most ordered pizza. I can see why it’s the most ordered with all that cheesy deliciousness. The garlic knots were super tender and delicious and the pie was a great finish to the meal! I, of course, had to go back for more cheesy goodness and got a slice of cheese which was full of ooey gooey cheesiness! You can for sure taste the freshness!

All in all a great lunch! I understand why they were named Best Pizza in OC...

We waited 45 minutes without receiving our pizza or appetizers. Multiple groups that arrived after us had received their food and were on their way out. Upon inquiring about the delay, the guy disappeared into the back without offering any feedback. We had to pull another employee who let us know they had been giving our food to another table and they're remaking it. Right as the pizza was delivered at the one-hour mark, we were standing up to go ask for a refund - we were already running late and had another engagement to attend. The pizza was obviously rushed, all the toppings were in the center. The outer half of the pizza had only cheese, and the slices were cut only about halfway through the dough. They seemed to be confused when we asked about our appetizers, they forgot to put them in the oven. Terrific. Rather than an apology, or some incentive to come back, the guy said they were understaffed we were simply offered a refund (to arrive in about 5 days) and left.

Questions: How do you continually give a table someone else's order? Everyone is provided a number card to place on the table. If you walk by a table with a number multiple times over the course of nearly an hour, and you have never delivered them food... Shouldn't you...

The meatball sub was delicious. However, I tried one of their meatball pin wheels and haven't stopped thinking about it. Next time, if I'm in a rush, I'm just going to grab a few of those. The meatball sub did take about 25 minutes.

Update: I ordered the meatball ricotta pinwheels extra well done. They were cooked perfectly and ready in a reasonable amount of time. The staff member who took my order didn't seem to happy to be at work. Other than that, a good experience.

Update 3: I ordered the same thing as I did last time. Meatball ricotta pinwheels extra well done. Seemed simple enough. The place was steady but not slammed. My order was ready in a reasonable amount of time however, they weren't well done. They were barely above room temperature. The staff member that took the order was at least friendly this time. It's so hard to nail down consistency in the restaurant industry. Next time, I'll order them to go, take them home and get it right myself. It shouldn't...
