While driving down the coast on Monday, October 7, 2019, my wife and I visited the Newport Craft Brewery. We arrived early afternoon on a Monday, so it was not surprising to us that business was slow. We used this fact to our advantage, giving us ample opportunity to discuss details about their brewing operation. We found all of the employees to be very personable and very informative. Since we still needed to drive further down the coast, we limited ourselves to a flight of 4 beers (Storm Blueberry, Storm Amber, Rhode Trip, and Comfortably Unaware). While trying to determine where we wanted to sit in the small taproom, we were advised that there was outdoor seating around back. Before venturing to the backyard, I asked for a brewery sticker but was informed that they unfortunately had handed out their stock of stickers while participating at a large festival the past weekend. A senior management gent overheard the conversation and interjected that he might have one remaining sticker in his briefcase. I was impressed that he would take time to search his briefcase for that remaining sticker just to please a random customer. We we ventured around back, we found a very large pavilion and a large yard for playing a variety of games. We had a great time sampling their beers and discussing their expansion plans for the brewery and entertainment facility. I cannot wait to revisit this facility. JIM...
Read moreAn impressive new(ish) facility in an unassuming location, especially because we live nearby and never noticed the place until they put a big new sign out on the road. Bright, modern, and clean. Inside is a bit fancier than expected, in a good way, compared to the back outdoor patio and lounge area, which is really nice in its own right. Just a good vibe all around and good folk working there. On a warm day, the outdoor bar and cornhole can’t be beat. Selection is solid, as they’ve updated their beer offerings to keep up with the hazy IPA trend. They could use some food trucks or something to eat, especially on the weekends, as they only sell beverages.
Update for October 2024 now that Wally’s has officially moved in to sell their delicious food right out of the kitchen! Trivia Thursdays are fun and the food is great, ranging from dogs to fried chicken to burgers. Had a couple tasty lagers, as well. Good to see their lager...
Read moreGreat location, great beer, fun spot, and plenty of games in the back. This location is very clean and the customer service is outstanding! This in itself is worth the visit! The brew choices they have are all great, top of my list is the “Fake Love” a light stout that is dark but full of flavor (especially if you like chocolate)! The in-door portion of this brewery is very cozy, and has a home like feeling. It would be so easy to become a regular at this location because of this. Out back they have a large patio with several different games and activities! Perfect for both adults and well behaved children! The brewery is very pet friendly and they have a food truck in the patio with a good amount of options for both the carnivores and the veggiterians. They have a good amount of free parking at the front and the side of the building. Highly...
