The 99 has many options for food, many of them are solid choices. My "go-to" is usually the sirloin tips. Sometime about their seasoning/marinade makes them taste amazing. (Note: this is probably the only restaurant where I would actually choose tips over an actual steak!).
This visit, I tried a new offering, Teriyaki Pork Tenderloin. It was pretty decent. The Teriyaki sauce was great. The pork could have used a bit more of it during the cooking. It honestly was a bit bland for my taste, but it comes with a side of the sauce for dipping, which I love. But there was zero fat on the tenderloin. I've had tenderloin from other places that came with huge chunks of fat (whether or not it's a source of flavor, I don't like it). So I was happy about that.
Service was great, even though they had more customers at this time than I've ever seen in this particular location before. At no time was I sitting there waiting for someone to come check on us.
Overall if you're familiar with the 99 restaurant chain this one is pretty much the same as all...
Read moreI genuinely feel bad for the people staffing this location because their service was lovely and they were very pleasant and helpful people. They are why this review is a 2 instead of 1 star. I hope they can use this review to advocate for better quality ingredients to those in the chain of command with that level of authority.
The steak I ordered was inedibly tendonous. I had to saw through it to cut it the bulk of each bite was fatty gristle. I can appreciate marbling on meat, but the actual muscle tissue was dwarfed by the web of tendons.
I do not write reviews because I know what its like working service, this is the first I've done, but if you're thinking of ordering beef the only one happy is going to be whatever pets you may give your lefterover meat to.
On the plus side, I think my doggo would rate this place a 5/5,...
Read moreFirst, my wife and I both wrote reviews on Yahoo, and apparently 99 R&P paid to have them removed.
Also, I am a bit of a foodie, and usually can eat just about anything.
At first glance it seemed like an ok restaurant (reminded me of a TGIF), but we got our meal, things changed quick. She ordered a turkey dinner (slices of turkey breast, mashed potatoes and gravy) and I ordered the french dip. My french dip was very fatty and au jous had more salt than the Dead Sea.
As soon as she took a bite, the expression was like "WTF!?" I figured it couldn't nearly as bad as mine. But I was truely mistaken. My best description would be a hormel TV dinner (if only that quality..lol). Hopefully our experience was just them having a bad day, but I don't think I would give them...
