I LOVE THIS PLACE! First of all, as a local, the cocktail menu is incredibly unique and creative compared to the rest of town! A couple of friends and I went to cheer ourselves up after a hard day at work and it totally turned us around! THE DRINKS (Our Bartender, Robert, was amazing): mocktail Crown of the Coast (not pictured) = 4.5/5. this tastes like nostalgic childhood memories and Pink Tampico. Would recommend if you want a sweet ALMOST citrus flavor that doesn’t make your mouth pucker or your teeth rot with sweetness. Agate Beach Wayside = AMAZING! 4.7/5 This drink has this unique way of making you want to keep drinking it! There is a subtle bitterness to the alcohol, but never so much as to make you shudder. Not JUICE, this is an alcoholic beverage that is refreshing and delicious. Oaxacan Hot Chocolate = FINALLY! 5/5 This drink was incredible. As someone who, personally, hates Coffee it is so hard to find dessert cocktails that don’t feature some kind of coffee element, or are so cloyingly thick you feel like your clogging a straw just thinking about it. THIS DRINK WAS LIFE-CHANGING!! The Mezcal provides a whole new layer of smokiness that really enhances the way chocolate tastes. The mouthfeel of this drink is smooth and effortless. I was so pleased by this drink, and now I can’t stop thinking about it.
High-end dining experience and atmosphere, incredible drinks, and food for a pretty moderate cost (my burger was $19 with Bacon and came with fries, whereas my mom got something delicious with risotto and seafood for hardly much more of a cost). Drinks are to die for and I can’t wait to go back and try the...
Read moreWe started our stay at the Best Western Plus Agate Beach Inn by having dinner at the onsite restaurant, Sea Glass Bistro & Lounge. Our dinner order was a standard choice of clam chowder, fish & chips and combo louie salad. All were very nicely presented & tasted delicious while we sat enjoying the ocean view. We ordered dessert as well and found it okay. The berry crisp had a heavy, well baked, crunchy oat layer. The cheesecake had a light, whipped texture with an impressive garnish - a clear (like glass) bubble sheet sugar piece that was imbedded with a few spots of clear blue. It was the coolest thing I've ever had on a dessert. I prefer a more dense cheesecake but that sugar piece was very fun to find on my slice :). However, I don't think I'd order dessert from there again. The next morning of our stay we had breakfast at the Sea Glass Bistro. Again, a standard order with an extra side of bacon (3 slices). All was good with the exception of: The bacon was a disappointment for me as it was hard-cooked and dry. (Just the way my husband LOVES it). The potatoes that came with my omelet were nicely roasted and seasoned but sadly ruined when I found the overwhelming, nasty taste of mold in my mouth. I had to expel it from my mouth - not something I've ever done in a restaurant, actually spit food out onto my plate. I let our server know that I had a moldy potato and she politely said she'd let the chef know. I would not recommend eating breakfast there. We finished our meal, minus the potatoes, paid our bill, left a generous tip to the...
Read moreAs a Best Western rewards member and an avid open table user, I was really excited to try this beautiful restaurant. Unfortunately… the outside was the best part of this dining experience. I had a reservation for 3 at 6:45pm, and from here things went downhill. The hostess… what can I say about the hostess. A rude RBF wearing woman who clearly thought she should be done with her shift . I had asked for a standard table instead of a high top because I have bad knees . My mother was also with me and she too has had terrible knee problems . The hostess ignored my request and instead parked us at a high top seat situated in what I can only describe as the black hole of despair .It seemed to suck diners in and hold them prisoner . No eating or smiling. If anything they looked impatient for the check .Seated across from us was a couple who casually complained to themselves of slow service and pricing of food . That should have been another red flag , but hey … I’m an adventurous sort . The three of us ordered two salads and a vegetable pasta . It was 7:45 by the time anything showed up . Our lovely server ( Nancy) was a delight . But maybe a little exhausted as she seemed to be doing her job and perhaps a couple others . Food seems to be the final mercy killing for the Sea glass. Their way to telling you “hey I’m sorry for that initial impression our condescending hostess left…but our food...
