Arrived just before Noon today. Place was 1/3 full.
Burger? Flavorless and lacked condiments. Just a patty with a hodgepodge of lettuce, tomato and pickles.
Montreal Chicken Sandwich? Flavorless.
Specials? Great sheet but, upon ordering, told none were available because of football & wing demand.
French Fries (or anything else fried)? Not available because of wing demand. I could get a side salad though… can’t even get chips. For a hangover Sunday with wings, who DOESN’T want fries?
Waitress? Saw her for the drink & food order, then again for the check. Not helpful at all, even for refills and needed condiments. Had no idea what was and wasn’t actually available, again, because of football and wing demand. Only found out when her ordering device would or wouldn’t put it through.
We got wings to go, too. Saving those for football on Monday.
Been here several times before and am a big fan. But, if the menu is going to be limited, publish a limited menu. And, if you’re going to make food other than wings on a day like this, please try a little harder. Today felt like a waste of $100.
Best item on the table today? My daughter’s grilled cheese. That was,...
Read moreCallled the place up looking for a place to get some wings. It didn’t occur to me I would have to search the online menu before placing the call because I was practically yelled of the phone by a beyond rude worker telling me I need to look at the menu before calling and that I should know every single sauce they have. He then hangs up on me like he’s angry that I called or something Evan though I’m trying to give him my business. Is it that hard to tell me a couple sauces I could choose from. I considered Evan calling back after how terribly I was just treated. When I called back to give my order he says “Hi welcome to buffs pub” I start to say hi can I order an and he cuts me off and says again hi welcome to buffs pub almost like he is mocking me. I then ask to speak to a manager where he tells me that there is not a manager working on a SATURDAY NIGHT. I ask if he is sure and he tells me this “the bar can operate without a manager believe it or not” and he hangs up. Would have loved to try the “best buffalo wings in Boston” but safe to say I will not be going or calling buffs...
Read moreIt’s a small sports bar in the heart of Newton Corner known for their wings. We came in for lunch around 11:30 and there were plenty of seats but when we left closer to 12:15 it was starting to get quite busy. I would imagine that for dinner or on a weekend it must get really busy.
The wings were really good though! Perfect amount of crisp while maintaining moisture combined with a sauce that left me wanting another order! They don’t let you split sauces so make sure you pick a good one, the Maple Hot was like a hot Buffalo with just a hint of maple and it was amazing! My only critique would be the fries need to be salted more, they were fairly bland but I just dipped them in blue cheese and it worked out.
Price wise it was average for the area just bordering on a little high but the quality of the food makes up for it. A 10-piece wing and French fry plate was $16.99 and a Guinness was $7 for reference.
Overall, I’ll be back next time I’m craving wings and would definitely recommend it to anyone that likes spicy...
