It's like 2 completely different restaurants. I'd like to give 4/5. And for dine-in, I would. But it's like a throw-away afterthought effort given for take-out orders. For example, I love their penne vodka with chicken, which I get every time I eat there. Perfectly smooth rich tomato/cream ratio, and I'm so extremely picky about vodka sauce. It's always great at the restaurant. Yet every time I order takeout, I end up with a $20 (yes with tax TWENTY dollars for one order of penne vodka with chicken) container of dry penne noodles that even with me mixing doesn't fully coat the pasta. A couple time I could tell the saute cook didn't ever prepare the dish in an actual saute pan. Basically just portioned some boiled penne and ladeled some vodka sauce on top. When the penne is actually coated with sauce, it's so little that the pasta is still almost flavorless. And in addition to barely covered pasta, for over $14, is maybe 4 oz of cut up chicken for an additional $4. It's just such a major disappointment to be craving a dish that you really only like made by one place that you KNOW can be so good, only to get it home and realize it's nowhere near what you expected. Especially when paying $20 for a dinner you can get other places for $15, and that basically costs $2 for them to make. I'm not one to write reviews, especially negative. But to be fair I have given takeout from them at least 5 chances, and each time politely request it be made with more sauce (and no, not "extra" as in additional fee on TOP of my $20 pasta, thank you, just ENOUGH) --- in the same manner I receive it when I dine-in. And they just can't make it happen; why, I have no idea. My advice would be if you want some good Italian comfort food, try Dominicks, just make sure you're actually going to eat THERE. because whoever does takeout orders clearly doesn't care about maintaining the same standards they have when serving...
Read moreAbsolutely horrible food and even worse people running it. My wife and I had a Christening party here a couple year ago and we loved it, we went tonight and it was a complete 180. We actually even had another party booked there for March for our other daughters Christening, until tonight. This was supposed to be a nice Valentines dinner with my wife and 4 daughters and it was a disgrace. The carpets were worn out and even had gum on them. First we ordered calamari and asked for it extra crispy. It came our lightly fried and impossible to chew. My wife ordered eggplant rollatini and it looked like it had been microwaved and she couldn't even put her fork through it. And then there was my meal, I ordered fettuccine alfredo with well done chicken. It came out with chicken that barely had grill lines in it, and the sauce had zero flavor. The waitress when she brought it to me said she knew it wasn't well enough, then why did you bring it out. She brought it back to the kitchen when I asked for the check and said if I wanted to talk to Sal, I could go up and talk to him. He didn't even have the courtesy to come over to the table to talk to us. He could not have been more of a jerk about it. Instead of being hospitable, he said he took the chicken off the bill, well I would hope so. After getting that kind of response from someone running a restaurant I immediately told him to cancel the party. I am not sure I have ever experienced someone running a restaurant who could've cared less about their customers experience. I would NEVER spend another single penny at this place and I encourage everyone...
Read moreAs a long time customer this was a shock to me.. my coworker ordered a sandwich from Dominicks for lunch about an hour ago and after she ate most of it found at least 4 hairs in it.. (practically imbedded in the bacon) so when we called to complain the guy (instead of being nice and apologizing) says oh well you do work in a hair salon you sure you didn't get hair in it that way?... we haven't had anyone in nor has my coworker cut any hair today... he was EXTREMELY rude and didn't even apologize. My coworker brought it back to show him and he didn't even try to see them as she was picking the hairs out to show him. And then was nice enough to give her her money back God forbid.. like it's one thing to just be nice to the customer and apologize and refund them but being rude and assuming we got hair in it ourselves is pretty rediculous. Why would we do something like that? I used to love Dominicks but that was an extreme turn off and shows what very little respect they have toward their regular...
