We stumbled across Blue Collar Café on Google Maps and decided to give it a try for breakfast. Parking was a little frustrating since there aren’t many spots, but honestly, that felt like a good sign — the lot was full, and the place was packed.
As soon as we walked in, we were warmly greeted and quickly seated at a freshly cleaned table. Service from start to finish was excellent — the ladies working were attentive, friendly, and kept everything moving smoothly even with the morning rush.
For drinks, my wife ordered a mimosa while I went with a fountain drink. The mimosa leaned heavily on the champagne with almost no juice, so it lacked balance. Not necessarily a dealbreaker — if anything, it was strong — but worth noting for those expecting a more traditional blend.
For food, I ordered the Country Ham Platter, which came with two eggs (I added a third with cheddar cheese), home fries, and toast. The eggs were cooked perfectly, and the home fries… easily some of the best I’ve ever had. I also added a side of maple candied bacon, and all I can say is DELI SHOES (delicious). The only downside — and unfortunately a big one — was finding a very long hair in my potatoes. That instantly killed my appetite, which was disappointing since everything tasted so good up until then.
My wife ordered the B.O.B. (Breakfast on a Bagel), and while she couldn’t finish it, she passed me the other half once I stopped eating mine. Once again — DELI SHOES. The bacon made it, and the bagel seemed freshly baked. It was a touch underdone and doughy, but overall, still really tasty.
Despite the one major hiccup, I do believe the hair was just an accident and not reflective of their usual standards. Because of that, I’m giving this visit 4 out of 5 stars. The food was genuinely delicious, the service was great, and I’d absolutely recommend Blue Collar Café to friends and family. We’ll definitely be back to give it another shot — hopefully next time everything lines...
Read moreWell to start, after having to wait for at l5 minutes. We weren't even in our seats and we were being asked what we wanted to drink. Second, waitress was very rushed and short with us. I'm not sure what her name was she never gave it to us. All I remember is that she had turquoise hair. Third, we were shouted at that the are no bagels left which would've great to know when I had been seated. The food when it finally arrived was mediocre at best, and that's being generous. My best girlfriend and I were the before a funeral to eat something quick. When it arrived my 2 eggs were ice cold and toast was cold and hard. The coffee wasn't anything special especially not for 3.00 dollars. Kinda like caffeinated dishwater. The waitress came by once to see if we needed anything and that was rushed and rude.As For my waitress, not the greatest service, for my first time here. Most likely will not be back. Im not quite sure what all the hype is about. It's kinda dirty and disorganized and we're packed in like sardines. Food way over priced for eggs and toast. VERY DISAPPOINTED. I wanted to enjoy and love it. Just couldn't enjoy and there wouldn't have had a chance to tell the warriors because she was mia,not worth the money or the food. Your better off going to McDonald's drive thru. Super waste of time.. Plus if your going to charge 10.00 for 2 hard eggs, that are supoosed to be over easy and were overly peppered, and one slice of bread for toast that wasn't toasted, Skillet potatoes were a joke. It was like 1/4 of a potatoe. The ham steak was cut in half and dry. Just a waste of time and money. Just overall severely disappointed, and I can't fathom the great reviews they must be family and friends reviewing. I so wanted to make this my small mom and pop shop. But no way now. Such a...
Read moreGood hometown Sandwich and mini bakery stop. Only open for breakfast and lunch. Enough tables to seat about 28 customers. Nothing fancy, yet not totally plain either. The place was pretty clean when I got there. This place reminds me of the small mom and pop places before Panera Bread and large corporation chains came to town. I went at 12:45 pm on a Friday and they were already out of several items on the menu. Poor planning on their part or too many customers that day? They closed the doors at 1:05 pm even though they are open until 2:00 pm. Standard breakfast fair, like eggs, grits, sausage. Mostly sandwich and a side for lunch. Bakery- extra large muffins, cookies, fudge for dessert or a sweet tooth. You can choose from several breads to have your sandwich created. They offered a side with the sandwich and the portions were decent size and price. My sandwich was turkey, cranberry sauce, cream cheese on marbled Rye. It didn't come with any lettuces, which I feel a sandwich almost can't do without, but I had several grapes on the side, plus Lay's chips. I took some of my partners spring blend salad ( that was offered as a side on his), sliced up a couple of the grapes and added to my sandwich and it was even better than Panera Turkey Cranberry flat bread. Next time I will see if they can make it this way for me. Just make sure you get there early or you might...
