I visited this establishment with dreams of a sushi and cocktail paradise, but I think I stumbled into a high-end mirage instead. I was hoping for a culinary experience worth writing home about. Instead, I ended up writing this review.
Let's start with the drinks. At Post 20 Sushi, your cocktail is mostly an iceberg with a hint of alcohol. For the price of one of their drinks, you could get two at Tommy Bahama's and actually feel tipsy. Sure, the presentation was Instagram-worthy, but I'd rather have a drink that gets me buzzed than one that just looks good next to my phone. Post 20? More like Post-2%-Alcohol.
Now, onto the sushi. Imagine if sushi rolls went on a diet - that's what you get here. Tiny, underwhelming, and expensive. I felt like I was eating sushi for ants. There are plenty of other places where you can get better sushi without emptying your wallet. And don't even get me started on the poke bowl. It was like eating fish jerky marinated in seawater. Save your taste buds and head to ThinkPoke for a $12 bowl that won't make you regret your life choices.
It seems like folks are drinking the Kool-Aid to be okay with these prices. They're as high as Miami or Vegas, but the quality and quantity are more like Des Moines on a bad day. Oh, and they charge you for using a credit card. Because who doesn't love a little extra pain in their wallet?
I had high hopes that Post 20 Sushi would be a worthy rival to Bamboo, but it looks like Soi Bistro and Domo Cafe will keep their top spots in my sushi-loving heart. If you're looking for a laugh and a lighter wallet, give Post 20 Sushi a try. Otherwise, steer clear and spend your money...
Read moreThe newest, cutest and super delicious local sushi spot. The owners did a beautiful job renovating this quaint little building keeping its cozy feel with a touch of modern flair, not to mention love the music playlist (90s/00s). The food - on par with all other local sushi spots near the area. BUT the poke bowl was extraordinary - for the price, you get a nice surprise on the size of the bowl and the salmon was incredible. I enjoyed the different take as the fish was prepared warm. Partner that with pickled red cabbage and cucumbers with a beautiful avocado flower and it was a bowl to behold! This will definitely be my staple go to. The gyoza was yummy and cooked to perfection. The Chirashi bowl was amazing but i would recommend that being your only item because it's a lot of fish. Since this spot is just a short walk away, we will absolutely be regulars. Very excited to have Post 20 here and hope all the best for them and...
Read morePost 20 in Niceville is an absolute must-visit for sushi lovers! From the moment we walked in, the welcoming atmosphere and friendly staff set the tone for an unforgettable dining experience. We tried the Ohana Roll, cucumber salad, sashimi, and nigiri, and every dish was beyond incredible.
The Ohana Roll was a perfect harmony of fresh, vibrant flavors that truly melted in our mouths. The cucumber salad was crisp and refreshing, and the sashimi and nigiri were some of the freshest and most beautifully prepared we've ever had.
What truly set Post 20 apart was the staff—they were all amazing and went above and beyond to ensure we had a great time. By the time we left, we genuinely felt like part of their family. If you're in Niceville and craving exceptional sushi with outstanding service, this is the place to go. We can't wait...
