I have never felt the need to come on Google and leave a review before but I feel the need to share my experience in the hopes that it may result in the two twits behind the counter receive some training in customer support. I came into the niceville store at about 6:30 Sunday evening on December 18, there was a young couple and a family of four sitting and eating when I came in so it's safe to say that it was not busy. I came in and walked up to the counter and stood there just a few feet from one of the girls working behind the counter. She was very busy talking to her coworker (the other female), I actually stood at the counter for about 5 minutes while the two girls talked and talked and talked. It felt as though they were intentionally avoiding acknowledging my presence. Finally, one of them asked if I wanted to order something and when I told her "yes!" she told me that I was at the wrong end of the counter (paraphrased) and she told me that the young guy would take my order if I went down to the registers. So they saw me walk in the door and up to the wrong end of the counter and just let me stand there without asking how she could help me for 5 minutes and then when my sandwich was ready she called my name, threw it up on the counter, and didn't say "thank you", "have a nice evening" or anything at all. She never stopped chatting with her coworker. I have also been to the fort Walton store on north beal pkwy when I witnessed a very rude female manager mistreating a new employee. I wasn't tying to ease drop but she was belittling the poor kid so loudly in front of everybody that you couldn't help but hear her. It was this poor kid's first day and he did something very minor that he didn't realize was against the rules and she verbally abused this poor kid to the point that I almost got up and told her that she was way out of line. She was a very masculine, non feminine woman in her late 40's or early 50's, perhaps older. Hopefully, the owners of this business will see this and know who I am describing and FIX THESE ISSUES WITH...
Read moreThis place is run by two people right now, Mary the store manager and Ken the franchise owner. Both do not care about anyone or anything, all that matters is money.
I worked here and Mary yelled at and told people they would be fired on a daily basis. She had pulled me from making sandwiches in the middle of a rush so we could stand directly in customer view while she yelled at me about another employee, saying "convince me to keep him because I want him gone." Right where everyone, customers and employees, could hear.
She hates customers. When she's on the phone hearing things she doesn't want to hear she just yells "STOP STOP STOP STOP STOP", cuts people off, makes them feel bad. I had multiple complaints from customers about her attitude, specifically about how she treats her employees.
She has called customers b*tches, *ssholes, etc. I don't think one catering order has been done without her cussing about it. She shorts you meat on catering orders. Where you're supposed to get 4 oz of meat on a sandwich, she'll cut it to 3.5 to 3.2 to save her and Ken money. Ken has personally approved of these tactics.
When there was a complaint about hair in food, instead of making everyone wear hairnets they're all just supposed to wear visors because 'she doesn't like hairnets'. There were two complains about hair on one day and that was the solution.
I was fired for trying to get in touch with Human Resources to tell them all of this. She fired or ran off eight people in a 30 day period for similar reasons. When I did talk to HR I was already fired, they didn't care and the HR department reports to Ken the franchise owner. Since Ken likes the money Mary brings in, he never got in touch with me again when I tried to tell him all of this. So I'm left leaving reviews wherever I can to tell about these poor...
Read moreUsed to be a decent place to eat, not anymore though.
Last couple of times there the service was slow and food was bland. Went again this past weekend, and it was just a disaster. Not very busy at all, no greeting or smiles, waited a long time to order and the person that finally took our order acted like he was very annoyed we were there. Ordered our usual hot sandwich, chili, mac and cheese and drinks. Took a VERY long time to get the order up, finally went up to ask about it and the three employees acted like they were unsure we had ordered anything. Then the person that took the order challenged whether or not we had ordered mac and cheese. I held up the receipt and offered to show him but he passed, just said to give it to us.
Sandwich meat was very tough and stringy, and the whole sandwich was soaked in a very thin, white sauce that ran everywhere and dripped out of the sandwich and all over us. Chili was very watery and bland, had zero chili taste, more like a brownish soup with hamburger and beans. Mac and cheese was so hot we could not eat it until we had finished everything else. And it too was pretty bland, not rich and creamy as in the past.
So after many years of patronizing this business, we are done. Will not return for a very poor meal that we paid over $25 before a generous "round up" contribution. Better deals around with folks that actually want customers...
