Dairy Queen Grill & Chill — Restaurant in Nicholasville

I normally avoid writing reviews on restaurants I go out to (and by normally I mean always, this being my first review). However, this DQ location is actually so horrible that my gut wrenches in pain just thinking about it. For starters, the overall quality of food (that is, when you actually get served), is horrid. By far the worst fast food restaurant I’ve ever had the discomfort of trying to stomach. In addition to this, the staff are slow, and visibility hate their jobs to the extent that they make you not want to return. The worst part about these two facts is that it’s still not even the worst part. The absolute most horrible trait this DQ has to offer is that they “run out of” 90% of the menu items that you attempt to purchase. It is seriously mind boggling that they “run out of ice cream” each and every week, which I believe to be a ploy to prevent them from having to do anything. Tonight, for example, the restaurant closes at 10, however, they closed at 9 because they are “out of ice cream and most of their food items”. How this place stay in business is beyond me, I truly don’t understand it. The DQ on the bypass is 110% better in every way from this location, especially the service. Sept 3,2021 0845hrs Gave this another try, ordered 3 Country Platters with ham, got home and the breakfast platter was missing hash browns. These isn’t one drive thru in this town that can get orders correct. Tried to call the number on the receipt to let them know but GOT NO ANSWER.

Wasn’t busy time, 1 car in drive thru and 2 awaiting their orders in the parking lot.

Management seriously needs to look at these issues unless they want others to avoid this place like the plague.

9 months ago Ordered two 4 piece chicken strip baskets with extra gravy. One had 4 small pieces and the other had 3 big pieces and 1 small. The tub of gravy was very watery and about 2/3 full which use to be full. The extra gravy was the same 2/3 and runny as heck. I use to get the same order and it always was gravy cup FULL and thick and delicious. Someone needs to audit these workers for consistency.

I’ll just get a sack of chicken tenders, frozen fries and make my own gravy. SORRY CHARLIE, not worth the $14 bucks for watered down gravy, small pieces (Like chicken nuggets), and ok fries, and toast.

I went inside to order my blizzards because I thought maybe they'd be faster inside than they were at the drive through. Well, they were...once they acknowledged my presence. The manager was standing with his back to me talking with someone in the kitchen. Now, I get that when you're the manager, sometimes you have to discuss things with your staff, but he clearly knew I was there, and it took an absurdly long time for him to turn around and take my order. After a good twenty-minute wait, I got home only to discover that the blizzards hadn't even been blended. I don't post negative reviews unless I've experienced a pattern of blatant disregard for customer service, and this establishment meets that criteria.
