I had a very nice time at Jake's Cigar Bar. I went for a friend's get together, and really enjoyed the ambiance. Both my friend and I agreed that we felt like we were at a larger city upscale cigar club, or a "Lodge", sitting around enjoying a cigar and whiskey.
The bartenders I met were extremely helpful and friendly, and not only helped to give recommendations but provided meaningful conversation regarding selections, and even just engaging conversation in general. I was recommended a few different drinks that exactly filled what I was looking for, and never once did I feel like I was being sold.
The humidor has ample selection of cigars, which I guess is something you'd expect from a place called a cigar bar, and they even cut them for you. The little glass ashtrays that you are provided are also very nice.
One bartender went above and beyond for me to help me find a Wyatt Earp / Tombstone Doc Holliday / Val Kilmer themed shirt he was wearing at the store, and even opened it after it was closed. They did not have the shirt in stock, but told me he would order it for me to be here in January. I really appreciated his help and customer service skills.
Overall, I had an amazing time and will definitely visit in the future for events and...
Read moreI visited Jake's for the first time the 3rd weekend of March of 2018. We were from out of town and wanted a place to drink and get cigars after dinner. Our cigars were fresh and the drinks were made well. Cigar bars are a dying breed let alone ones that server drinks so I would encourage all to support this establishment. Two gentlemen were working the bar and the service was exceptional-- fresh glassware, choice of ice cube size and when we moved from beer and straight bourbon-- properly made manhattans and mint juleps (nothing better than a handmade julep with a nice smoke). My group travels a lot and maybe not fair to say but we thought prices were moderate to even cheap. We are used to paying $30/person to smoke for the day in Chicago for example and that facility is byob. Again one is paying for the service and the atmosphere. While I enjoy cigars, I no longer can sit in some locations where the smoke hangs due to poor ventilation like an 1800s opium den. TVs were present and music but not overbearing so that one couldn't talk. My group of 4 stayed for over 4 hours smoking and drinking. We would and will (when we are back to Eastern KY)...
Read moreWhile attending a conference, a fellow attendee recommended that our group visit Jake’s Cigar Bar. I have never been to a cigar bar. Quite frankly, I didn’t even know that such a place existed. Smh clearly, I need to venture out more often!
I love the decor - primarily earthy tones & low lighting. The atmosphere is very relax & the bar staff is friendly. Lol they also are very patient because I asked quite a few questions about bourbon. I decided to experiment a little with my drink & ordered an Expresso Martini with Basil Hayden 😘 Absolutely adore this combination & it is will be the only way that I will drink an Expresso Martini moving forward.
I tried a cigar for the first time. It was a surprisingly pleasant experience. There’s a room filled with various cigar brands & you choose the one that you want. I don’t remember the cigar brand that I chose but it was flavored 🤦🏿♀️ I also met a group of fellow veterans who were lounging near the bar & we had a very boisterous & jovial exchange. If I’m ever in the area again, I will definitely visit Jake’s...
