Terrible. My brother dropped his Samsung Galaxy S2 right before he went on vacation and shattered the inner glass. My mom and I took it into CPR for him because to get a quote. The guy told us it would be $145 and he'd give us a six month warranty. We went back home and waited for my brother to get back to talk it over and he decided he would do it. So my brother went in one week later to get it fixed and then they said it would be $185 and no mention of a warranty. When my brother told my mom about the $40 increase in one week she called them and told them what she was told the prior week and they literally had nothing to say about it. My mom told them not to touch the phone and the guy claimed that it was already fixed. Then my mom asked to speak to the owner and the employee didn't even know who the owner was. She then asked to speak to a manager and he said the manager wasn't there. After more yelling suddenly the employee panics and says, "Oh actually my manager is here" and puts him on the phone. After hearing my mom's story the manager asks what employee told her it was $145 and she didn't know because why would you get the name of the employee when you go in for a quote and have no problem with the guy whatsoever? So then the manager blames my mom for not getting the name (total bullshit) and then my mom says fine, show me your employees and I'll point out which one gave me that price. The manager says no and then says we don't want to do business with you and we didn't touch your phone yet so come pick it up. Even though five minutes earlier they claimed the phone was already fixed. Very sketchy business. Would not recommend this place. They might fix your phone but they will rip you off. It might seem like you're getting a good deal but...
Read moreMy Playstation 5 randomly stopped working. After following all the troubleshooting recommendations on the playstation website, I decided to take it to Edgar at CPR. Edgar took my PS5 and ran a full diagnostic on the playstation and it came back empty. Then Edgar called me back later that day and told me to bring it in one more time so he could run one more just to be safe. He immediately thought it was the power supply that went out. He then ordered it and waited for the part to come. When the part came, he began the process of disassembling the Playstation so he could get to the power supply. While doing so, Edgar informed me that it wasnât the power supply. It was my motherboard that internally exploded. It was not fixable and considered a total loss. Unfortunately, we werenât able to fix it. But ultimately, i am extremely grateful that Edgar was able to help me out. He called me every other day with updates, explained everything he did so I can fully understand. He was optimistic the whole time and always seemed to have confidence that he would be able to fix it. Later that week, I paid Edgar another visit with a broken iPhone. The screen was shattered and it didnât turn on. All it took was a day to get my phone back good as new. I 100% recommend visiting Edgar for any tech problems you may run into. His shop is extremely clean, and his prices are extremely fair and he is an extremely professional...
Read moreTook my motorola phone to CPR Skokie to replace cracked screen after dropping phone on concrete. They told me it would cost $235 because they had to replace the whole module. Fine. They gave me really fast service which is the only plus, but within 45 minutes the screen was coming unglued from the phone body and something was wrong with the sensor so I could not hang up the phone or use the touch pad when in a call. Also front camera did not work. I took it back and it turns out they put the wrong module in. They swapped it with the correct one within a couple of hours. Then, within a couple months, micro cracks started developing. I had not dropped the phone or handled in any way differently than before. I attribute the cracks to stresses on the glass due to the new installation, or a sub par part, or both. I also noticed the glass was wavy in spots, not as smooth as the original, making me think the replacement is of low quality. Now the cracks have propagated to the point where the phone is unusable. I called CPR and they said the warranty does not cover micro cracking. They insisted that the screen was original from Motorola. They did offer to "take a look at it and see what they can do". No thanks. I'm buying a replacement newer model refurbished phone on eBay, for half the price...
