What a value for the price. Red Hot Ranch really delivers when it comes to portion size and cost. These days it feels like grabbing a quick bite can cost more than it’s worth, so finding a spot like this is a win. The food here is good, but to be fair, I still think Poochie’s has better flavor overall. That said, for what you pay at Red Hot Ranch, the value is hard to beat.

On my visit, I ordered the fried shrimp with hot sauce. The shrimp were perfectly fried—crispy on the outside, tender on the inside, and full of flavor. The hot sauce wasn’t actually spicy, which was a little surprising, but it still added a nice tang that worked well with the shrimp. It’s the kind of meal that leaves you full and satisfied without feeling like you overpaid.

One thing to keep in mind is that it’s cash only. It’s not a big deal if you know before you go, but it’s worth mentioning so you’re not caught off guard.

This is my second time visiting the Skokie location. First time was decent. My food was delicious. Today I decided to go again and waited in line for over 15 minutes only to be told “no hamburger” by some worker who barely spoke English. I tried to communicate with him and he kept saying “no hamburger no hamburger”. You couldn’t have said something when I first walked in? What a waste of my time. How do you not have hamburgers? It’s 3 in the afternoon. Not sure if they can’t handle the traffic they are getting but they should think about getting more help and more hamburger meat. Also the place was not as clean as my first visit. They peel the potatoes right next to the order counter which I found a little off putting. Why can’t they do this in the back? I was so looking forward to my second meal here. Sadly, I will not...

This is the worst sandwich! I ordered polish sandwich with fries. I noticed the tomatoes & onions its watery probably a left over from yesterday, not fresh tomatoes you could tell by the color Nasty! They put the greasy fries on top of the sandwich. The bread falling apart so much mustard they put. I just threw it away.I notice the guy open the fridge with his hands gloves on it & get the tomatoes using the same hands with gloves on it.no serving spoon. What the heck. You better pay attention when you're preparing food. I will not go back here... make sure you prepare your food...
