TL;DR - You must eat here and enjoy attentive service, well crafted cocktails and delectable bites.
We originally made a reservation for July 4th before attending fireworks but received a call the next day saying they had decided to give their staff the day off. As a former restaurant owner, I understood and thanked him for calling prior to being told a $50 gift card would be at the front desk for us the next time we came in. We made reservations for a couple days later and are glad we did.
Location - Conveniently located in downtown Noblesville with ample parking in multiple directions with valet parking soon to come. The restaurant design is accessible but classy enough for an anniversary. We were sat at a high top but would probably choose a standard table next time.
Drinks - My wife had the “dirty goat” which was delicious, strong and well made with an olive stuffed with goat cheese. The only complaint was she wanted another olive but who wouldn’t. I opted to go with the Katherine Goldschmidt cabernet that was fantastic and could have easily drank an entire bottle if given the opportunity. It paired extremely well with the filet.
Appetizers - We got the shishito peppers and wings which became an immediate flavor. The wings are nice sized, cooked perfectly and an unbelievable flavor that has a nice kick to it. The peppers were also delicious as they had the same sauce over them. My wife got the west coast oysters (6 oysters) and knocked back all 6 easily. They were fresh and great tasting.
Dinner - I got the 8oz filet (medium rare) and swapped out the asparagus for club corn. The filet was perfectly cooked and tender with a delicious homemade steak sauce. The club corn was heavenly, delicious but not heavy. The flat crisp potatoes should be a side item on their own because they were perfect. My wife got the black and bleu flatbread and thoroughly enjoyed it. After the oysters and wings I didn’t expect her to eat much but she ended up eating half of it due to being so delicious.
Dessert - We got a slice of the coconut cake to go. While I enjoyed it, my wife adored it so I let her have the bulk of it.
Service - Our waitress (forget name, I know she mentioned have grandkids that she brought to the restaurant recently) was on point through the evening. She was knowledgeable, attentive but not overbearing. We generally avoid eating at new restaurants due to the staff needing some training, but they obviously did a great job at this location.
Long story short - this is a MUST...
Read moreThe first thing you consume when you walk into the restaurant is the decor. It smartly blends a variety of mediums to create a speakeasy vibe—exposed brick, black-and-white patterned wallpaper, warm wood accents, and eclectic lighting. The space itself feels like a work of art. But let’s get to the food, which, in my opinion, plays second to the decor.
I started with the grilled Caesar. The lettuce was perfectly cooked—crisp with just the right kiss of char. The brioche croutons and parmesan crisp added an elevated touch to the salad. The gumbo was flavorful, but as someone who’s had a lot of gumbo over the years, I missed that deep, dark brown color that a well-made roux should have. The Courthouse gumbo didn’t quite deliver on that front.
My husband ordered the pork with sweet potatoes and green beans. The first thing we noticed was the pool of mustard cream sauce at the base of the dish, with the vegetables layered above it and the pork chop resting on top. While the pork chop itself was cooked beautifully and paired well with the green beans, it had the opposite effect on the sweet potatoes. They became oily from the pork and were overwhelmed by the mustard sauce. The competing flavors just didn’t work together.
I went with the sea bass, which had wonderfully crispy edges and was cooked to perfection. It was topped with what I believe was a minimal orange slaw—light and refreshing but pooled in the orange blossom sauce. It was very good, but at $51? I can’t say it felt worth that price. I also tried the loaded mashed potatoes (without bacon or sour cream). There was an odd flavor I couldn’t quite place—not bad, but not particularly enjoyable either.
But then came the coconut cake—wow, just wow! Layers of moist goodness, blanketed with toasted coconut, and paired with just enough chocolate nestled next to the slice. A sweet, memorable finish...
Read moreThis place has a great atmosphere. Fun cocktails. Our waitress the first time we were there was fantastic. Menu is very limited. For dinner the first time, we settled on four cocktails, the steak sliders, sushi roll and artichoke. The artichoke was hard, dry and absolutely awful but the sliders and sushi were good. Our bill was $175. Thought a little pricey for what it was but thought we might like the lunch menu better. We went today for lunch. Our waitress had the personality of a robot. Again, very limited menu. Atmosphere still nice but there were only two other tables with people in them at lunch hour on a Friday. My fried goat cheese salad was good as was my husband's Caesar salad. However, it is an option to add a protein to your salad with no price listed. I assumed maybe $6-8 tops extra to add grilled CHICKEN to a salad. It was TWELVE DOLLARS to add one tiny chicken breast to my not the largest salad. For two salads and two waters it was $55. It's a great spot with a good atmosphere but I find it hard to believe the overall Noblesville crowd can afford to frequent here. For special occasions I guess. Food option wise, I personally choose many other options ...
