I was at this store yesterday and I was looking at the clothes and merchandise on the lower level with my friend. Me and my friend had seen a sweatshirt that we were thinking about buying. So I was going to put the sweatshirt on over mine to see if it would fit and it did. It was even oversized so my friend and I were laughing about that. During this the owner of the business came up behind us being very rude and unprofessional and said to us if you want to go play at a playground then go there. Proceeded to ask us if we were even old enough to be in the store and asked us how old we were and if we could handle being in the store. Talking down to us and being extremely aggressive. We said yes that we would be able to handle being in the store and stopped after that and were just looking around at the rest of the products and appreciating all of the interesting antiques. We then got to this one point and weāre just looking at stuff and I sat on this old bench because I was curious if it was comfortable and was thinking about sending it to my dad because he likes antique furniture. After sitting on it for around 30 seconds and doing nothing wrong, The owner of the business came down the stairs again and said that this isnāt a place to just hang out and then told us to leave continuing to raise her voice to us and talking down to us when we had done nothing wrong. Up until that point she was on the cameras the whole time just watching us waiting to find a reason to yell at us. So, I said to her that we didnāt do anything wrong and she had said to not have an attitude with her. I then said she was the one with an attitude, being extremely rude when all we were doing was looking at the products. My friend then apologized and said that we didnāt mean any trouble and that we could leave. He had also asked if we could still buy a bracelet. With extreme attitude she responded back saying yes if you really wanted to. I then said to him no that we shouldnāt buy it, because I donāt want to support a business who treats people this way. Then as we were walking up the stairs she walked behind me saying that she was just so hurt that we werenāt going to be buying her products over and over in a sarcastic and mocking tone. At the top of the stairs by the exit my friend then asked if we could put the bracelet back or if she wanted to do it then she said that she would do it. Then said to him that he was very respectful and nice and then said that I was a little witch. And told us to not come back. I understand the sweatshirt situation, but it could have been handled in a much more professional manner instead of talking down to us. If we were grown adults she would have not talked to us that way. However, after that situation we were very respectful towards the products and others in the store minding our volume and behavior. She simply just didnāt like us being in the store and had prejudice against us even despite us choosing to be more mindful of others. I would not recommend going here with the lack of professionalism and disrespect towards me and my friend. I am truly disappointed because this was a place that I have enjoyed going to and supporting for a while. DEFINITELY do NOT let your kids go here with there being a risk they could be...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreEarlier today I bought a purse that was amongst lots of used purses in the $15-$30 range. There was a used Coach purse for only $30 right next to the one I picked. Thinking it was a used purse, I found one that I thought was $12.95, but I was looking for a USED bag so that didnāt seem off to me. It had a handwritten tag with handwriting that was difficult for me to read with my bad eyesight. I would not have expected a bag at an antique place to sell a purse for $129.50. I understand that there is nothing to be done since all sales are final, but all I was told was itās 20% off, (yay! š) but was not told the price at checkout. I gave my credit card and signed my name on a screen still thinking I found a cute bag for around $12. I was handed a receipt, and didnāt look at it until I got into my car because I had to pick my son up from preschool and was running late. Once I realized MY mistake, I immediately called and was told there was nothing they could do. Which is fine. My husband later on called to see if there was ANYTHING else that could be done because I felt so bad about it. I understand that sometimes you canāt help in situations like these, but when I heard an employee on the phone with my husband say āmaybe your wife should pay more attention when sheās buying something.ā I completely changed my opinion of that place ā¦. maybe I SHOULD pay more attention when Iām running late, HOWEVER the employees should be more communicative with their customers, and not be RUDE when we were just trying to explain the situation. I spent $100 more than I thought I did. That had already ruined my day, but I do understand my mistake. (Who goes to an ANTIQUE shop to buy a brand new purse though?) Either way, I would have been happy to keep shopping there until I heard the way the employee spoke to my husband on the phone. What a shame considering I had recently told quite a few people who are in the area how much I like that shop. I will be letting them all know how they treated the situation, though. Very disappointed with a place that I used to really enjoy. Also, printing out a receipt that says All Sales Final AFTER youāve already paid for something is not helpful. Communicating with your customers BEFORE they buy something is much more efficient, like how much the item is or that Iām not allowed to return it. That would have been nice. And communicating KINDLY...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreMy husband and I love vintage and Antiques, and⦠absolutely USED to love this store, and old management. Weāve bought a lot from hereā¦.and my son, was a frequent buyer of the military stuff. Welp! Not now! Our daughter was at a birthday party couple doors down, so we thought weād go browse while we wait. Well⦠whole time a male āstaffā member followed us around, or it at least felt that way!!!??? It made for a very bad experience, and after finding something my husband wanted, after thinking about it, he refused to go back in and buy it. Seriously⦠get out of peopleās grill, and back off! Iām sorry if someoneās stole from you before, but itās seriously RUDE to be stalking your customers!! Definitely, NOT coming back to that antique...
